Decent room but awful nights sleep due to noise
I have stayed here before in 2022, and had a great experience, hence decided to rebook for a 9 hour overnight connection in Doha going to Singapore. The experience this time was not good!The actual room is decent, but sadly there was no sound proofing, and this ruined everything. All night there was disturbance from the flight announcements, and noise from the security/duty free areas which were right outside the room. On top of this, there was a lot of noise coming from the corridors/nearby rooms, and there was a very annoying buzzing sound coming from one of the cupboards. So very little sleep, and that was the whole point of booking the room in the first place. I did mention to the front desk staff at check out, but they were powerless to do anything, apart from apologise. Considering that these rooms go for over £200 a night, it is extremely poor that these things go unchecked. My advice is if anyone has issues with noise when sleeping, you have to request a room that overlooks the main area with the Bear ,since that is much quieter. The other main problem is that when there is an issue like this, there is no time to change rooms. Oryx, please take note and you really do need to do something about this.
