The hotel is fantastic, the staff is friendly, the food is great, it is clean. Would absolutely stay there again. Zocalo Plaza however is very noisy and is shut down for protests or demonstrations for some part of almost every day, just be aware of that if you are staying in downtown.

We were extremely happy with our one week stay at Zocalo Central Hotel. If you are a new tourist to Mexico City and want explore the historic area and popular neighborhoods, then this is the place to stay. You’re within walking distance of many major sights and museums and very handy to the metro subway system. The hotel was lovely, the staff were extremely helpful. The main restaurant El Balçon de Zocalo has fine food and a great view of the Cathedral. The café available 24x7 and included in the price was a very pleasant surprise. The included breakfast buffet was pretty modest but sufficient for our needs. Because the hotel is right beside the main historical square, the road in front of the hotel was occasionally closed by the police if demonstrations or other big events were expected. We will definitely return to Zocalo Central when we return to Mexico City.
