STAY AWAY! Posted Apr 27, 2009
This is not a 4 star hotel. Maybe in a fifth world country. The hallways are uncomfortably hot. I doubt they use the air conditioning. It took three days and numerous calls to get an ice bucket with no lid and the size of a martini shaker. Carpeting is so inferior and poorly installed there are waves of air under foot-needs to be stretched. Checked in and waited 20 minutes for a manager because the desk clerk said are printed reservation was not what they had recieved from booking agent. They cannot DO ANYTHING without a manager who is never at the desk and is "busy" elsewhere. Walls are paper thin-you could hear the TV next door. Poorly managed. One big ugly motel posing as a 4 star premise. WORST hotel experience in my life. No offers of compensation not gesture of goodwill. RUN to the Quinta Real across the street- they know property management. The Camino Real is run by robots who seek only the bottom line. Come to think of it the bottom is where they are at. Furnishings are retread 70s with garish purple and orange cheap fabric over foam cushions. Words can not paint the tasteless, tacky interiors. It looks like an art student won a contest. I couldn't wait to leave that place and WILL NEVER return. Restaurants-Chinese and Italian. What a waste when there could be a wonderful authentic Mexican restaurant. Look for this place to fold or continue to cater to the less sophisticated traveler. Saw plenty of rooms with what looked like 12 people to a room. LOUD and NOISY children runnng down the hallways and mothers screaming at them. It was a horrible, horrible long weekend and not one person from management really tried to solve the problems. STAY AWAY!!!!
