Overall it was a fine stay, especially for the price we paid. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was also very quiet, especially considering the construction across the street. I thought the design/decor was very nice and perfect vibe for our mother/daughter weekend. However, there is hardly any light in the room. There was one ceiling light in the entrance. The rest of the lighting is VERY dark and moody. It was very hard to see anything and just felt dark and dingy. Not dark enough though to hide that this place needs a DEEP cleaning. It's not dirty like I felt I would bring bugs home with me, but dirty like all the corners of the floors haven't been cleaned in awhile. The curtain was EXTREMELY dusty. The floors under the bed (hard floors not carpet) haven't been cleaned in a very long time. The grout needs a good steam clean as there is mold growing. Our shower knob was very hard to turn (almost thought it didn't work, then it dripped but I was able to get it to stop with a tough push). There was a used disposable razor still in the shower which my 9 year old discovered, and a stain on one of her pillow cases. The light was out in the entry vestibule at the front door of the hotel. Very dark coming back at night. I saw similar reviews for recent stays and ignored it. They were right. Overall with a deep clean & a bright lamp and this place would be a great value. I would have told staff these observations upon check out, but no one asked.
