Not what I expected

Pros: Clean and refurbished
Cons: Check in process was very slow. Physical address is incorrect. Must drive somewhere else to get to rooms.
Location: Located off of International Drive close to many restaurants, Universal Studios, and SeaWorld.
I was excited to book the Wyndham as this chain has a decent reputation. My first issue with this hotel was the address (listed as on International Drive). It is actually on Sand Lake Road. When I got to reception after a wait of around 15 minutes I asked about the address and the attendants just laughed off the fact that the address has not been updated after the refurbishments were completed. Reception area was very clean and modern in its details. Once you check in you will find out that you have to drive around to the back to locate your building number and room number. Once in the room you are visually satisfied as the rooms are freshly painted with a modern color scheme and fixtures. You are then hit with the tll tale smell of mildew. Unlike other reviewers I didn't see any bugs and the rooms were very lean. The bathrooms were all updated with granite countertops and slate type tiling. The wate pressure was very weak and my husband and I both spent around 5 ministers just trying to get more water pressure but I guess that was a good thing since the drainage was less than efficient. If you a looking for a moderate room witha moderate price this is the place or you, but if you are expecting "resort" quality you will be sadly disappointed. this hotel isn't worth more than $50 including the $17 resort fee!

A very disappointing experience

Pros: The beds were comfy, the room was clean.
Cons: 1) Be upfront about changes to the bed configuration in the itinerary. 2) Better integration (booking a King should result in a king) 3) earplugs
Location: Near universal studios, a mall, restaurants of every price level, etc.
I had booked a room with a king bed through Travelocity. When my wife and I arrived, we checked in and the hotel took my credit card info down for incidentals. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary and we were given our room keys. We get to the room... instead of a king bed, there were 2 twin beds. My wife and I were confused, as I had selected a room with a king (it even says so in my emailed itinerary. So... my wife called the front desk to address this. The hotel staff said nothing else was available and nothing could be done. At this point, we were pretty upset with the hotel. We should have been warned that our accommodations were different. I walked down to the front desk to see if there was anything that could be done in person. I asked if there were any suites available that we could buy an upgrade for. Nothing. The hotel has two buildings shut down right now for construction (about a quarter of the parking lot / resort is torn up because of it). I told the staff that we should have been warned about the switch of a king bed to twins when we checked in, rather than discovering it when we got to the room. The staff apologized profusely and said they'd refund the resort fee. I guess I should have read the fine print on my Travelocity itinerary... there may be a taxes and fees line item, but there's a separate area for "resort fee" that's not included in the total price. Front desk also didn't have any earplugs (even Red Lion provides that).

Booking was painless and actually very helpful. The hotel was great! The check-in was easy and the staff was friendly and helpful. We had 2 small dogs and the rooms were clean and very comfortable. Would stay again

I Expected Better

When I booked my room I expected so much more according to the reviews and four star rating. We arrived and the first thing was paying an additional rate for some misc fee's. Wi-fi is not free. Next thing I know I am getting the "buy a timeshare talk." Oh and the resort was under construction when we arrived so it was a big maze to get around with only one entrance and exit. The room was nice but the TV had issues. I did like that there were two restaurants and a bar near the pool & hot tub. It was decent hotel but expected so much more from Wyndham. The construction is what really bugged me.

Checked into the room and temp was 83. Turned the temp down and left for dinner and when we returned at 11:00 temp was 83. Called twice for service and "engineering" came about midnight. Wasn't fixed till next day. 2 days later someone put a do not disturb tag on our door I'm assuming as a prank so when we retuned from the parks our room was untouched. Had too call twice again for towels. Ran out of towels pool side no one around to ask for service.

Great appearance, however when we arrived in our newly remodeled suite, we discover dirty bed sheets, a non working TV, and dead bugs next to the bed. We ended up leaving the hotel the same night and checked into the crown plaza down the road which was same price and exceeded our expectations

I rented a 2 king bedroom suite,with a small living room area and a small but equipped kitchen,Whhen I got to the hotel staff made me and my family feel welcome.I found a used bar soap in one of the showers,but when I called room service they send two housekeppers to resolve the problem. I wish they had a jacussi in the pool area.Sofa bed needs to be upgraded,mattress has poor quality. Rooms were clean,except for the bathroom issue.Breakfast was very good and the hours for the weekend from 7am-10am,excelllent and best of all ,it was free!!! I recommend this hotel It was quite,clean,and very relaxing.
