I liked the atmosphere and friendly helpful staff. The only things me and my friends were disappointed in: no refrigerator or microwave in room. Key card was misprogrammed and had to wait for someone else to drive up to get in parking lot and the room keycard sidnt work had to go down hall and get maid to open our door.

Our perfect getaway!
Our stay here is a must if we’re looking for a cozy getaway , a reconnecting of each other or just a plain old “we need a break”Hotel Ballast is the one to handle all of your getaway situations. The new bartender , exceeded my expectations . We’ve been staying at the Ballast for approx , 5 yrs and will definitely keep staying there! ALL OF THE BOXES ARE CHECKED. Donna H .

Actual rooms are very different from the pictures on the website; much smaller! Coffee maker was on a pull-out on one side of the dresser. No microwave or mini fridge.

First of all, the view from our room was the roof of the convention center. We requested a river view room. The room was clean, but not worth what we paid each night. We were left with one single washcloth for 3 people. The heat did not turn off in the room. When we set it to cool and set the temperature, the heat continued to blow. It was not intolerable, but inconvenient and made for a terrible sleep. We called the front desk and they sent up a fan the size of a softball. I suppose it was the thought that counted. I was appreciative. We were told there were no other rooms available when we called.
