Why is this coverage different from your current coverage?

Every person's insurance coverage differs. However, often travelers do not have coverage that would protect them in the event they needed to cancel their trip and were subject to cancellation penalties. The plan includes reimbursement for cancellation penalties up to the total trip cost paid, in the event that you must cancel your trip for a covered reason.

In addition, while many travelers have health insurance, it sometimes does not cover them outside of their network or outside of the United States. Check your policy to be sure.the plan will reimburse eligible medical expenses not covered by your primary health insurer, including deductibles and co-insurance It will pay first dollar for covered expenses if your primary health insurance does not cover the medical expenses or if you do not have health insurance. Oftentimes, health insurance will not pay for emergency evacuations, which may be considered transportation benefits, and can be quite expensive. The plan includes an emergency evacuation benefit up to $25,000.

Many times, travelers believe that their credit cards include insurance coverage. Read the fine print on this coverage carefully. Ensure that it not only provides a 24-hour toll-free service that will assist in an emergency and arrange for medical transportation, but also has insurance benefits, up to a specified maximum dollar amount, that will pay in the event of a necessary emergency evacuation. The plan includes access to a 24-hour assistance service that can coordinate emergency medical evacuation and also includes an insured benefit of up to $25,000 for costs associated with the service. Eligible medical expenses can be reimbursed, up to $10,000 through this plan, and reimbursement is also available for unused trip days under the trip interruption benefit, up to the total trip cost.

Please see the Description of Coverage for full details regarding the plan.
