When the Dutch settlers founded a colony on Manhattan Island, they called it Nieuw Amsterdam. Taking a cue from the history books, Holland America has named its newest Signature Class ship, the Nieuw Amsterdam. Designed to showcase the glamour of New York City, the ship will start sailing in 2010 and offers a new level of pampering.
