Port Description

Dikili, Turkey
This unassuming fishing village is the gateway to the ruins of the ancient city of Pergamum, which sits on the outskirts of the modern agrarian city of Bergma. Pergamums attractions include the remains of the Altar to Zeus and a library that nipped at the heels of Alexandrias famous book repository (and also happened to share its founder, Alexander the Great). The ancient citys pride and joy was the Asklepeion, a medical center that claimed to have never lost a patient, treated the maladies of emperors, and introduced the study of psychiatry.
