Port Description

Palma de Mallorca, Mallorca, Spain

Most people disembarking will make a beeline for popular Playa de Palma. Youngsters, coolsters, and just plain partiers often live it up here until dawn. Day visitors, however, can explore a city with historic Roman, Arabic and Spanish relics, where portions of Medieval walls still stand to face the Mediterranean. Palma's Cathedral took about 500 years to build, and Antoni Gaudi--famous purveyor of the divinely gaudy--designed the incredible interior. For a Gothic contrast to city high-rises, go to La Lonja. Those who've had enough of history can ride a Spanish stallion through almond, pine, and olive groves.
