Port Description

Hiroshima, Japan

August 6, 1945. The day that the sky exploded and the earth was laid bare in Hiroshima. It’s unfortunate for this 600-year-old city that its history will forever be overshadowed by the tragic event. But just as incredible as the disaster, possibly more so, is that the "City of Peace" has revitalized itself faster than anyone thought possible. Green parks, unpolluted air, cherry blossoms, and six rivers truly define the saying that the opposite of war isn’t peace, it’s creation. Hiroshima today is a thriving metropolis and is also a world leader in furthering education about nuclear war and radiation.
