Guadeloupe, Guadeloupe, France
Creole brings to mind images of crawfish, New Orleans, and jambalaya. Add topless beaches, rainforests, and a volcano and you will quickly decide that a French-Caribbean combination just makes perfect sense. The Butterfly Island is composed of two wings: one flat, which is home to the best beaches on the island and fields of sugar cane, and the other wing, which is overwhelmed by the volcano and rainforest. Snorkeling in the nude or sailing to an uninhabited island, and then topping off the day with an espresso or nice glass of wine makes this French departement a wonderful secret.
