Set along a beach on the Yucatan Peninsula, the family-friendly Riu Playacar is two miles from Playacar Mall and 5th Avenue Playa del Carmen and approximately 35 miles from Cancun International Airport. This location is also four miles from Xcaret Park, 33 miles from Xel-Ha, and 40 miles from Tulum and Cancun's Hotel Zone.

Resort amenities include the two swimming pools, children's pool and playground, spa tub, El Porche (international cuisine), Turquesa (open-air beach restaurant), La Cumbia Bar, Las Olas (swim-up bar), Lobby Bar, day-long activities, and nightly entertainment.
