The Comfort Suites Grand Rapids North is easily accessible from U.S. Highway 131, across from the Fifth Third Ballpark, home of the West Michigan Whitecaps minor league baseball team. It is also 10 miles from Cornerstone University, and approximately 22 miles from Gerald R. Ford International Airport. This location is also a mile from White Pine Trail State Park, seven miles from the Gerald R. Ford Museum, eight miles from Calder Plaza and Van Andel Arena, and 15 miles from Gaslight Village.

The hotel design was based on Frank LLoyd Wright and features accents and overtones that are easily identified as such. From a 'Hip' roof line to interior right angles that meet curves. A unique upgrade to the hotel over any other hotel in the state is the theater room and large library of movies. The room may be used 24/7. The fitness room not only has a full body weight machine but also boasts a cardio theater with Star Trac treadmills and EFX ellipticals. Each machine is connected to 3 television monitors and headset plug ins. The hotel lobby was designed to give a 'coffee house' feel, where people can sit in front of the fireplace and read a book or search the internet.
This all-suite hotel features superior amenities such as free deluxe continental breakfast, free wireless high-speed Internet access, free weekday newspaper and free local calls. One night a week the hotel has a managers reception serving heavy appetizers and refreshments. The property also has bike rentals for use on the White Pine Trail.
