Built in 1911, the Terrace Inn is designated as a National Historic Landmark located in Bay View, Petoskey, a fairy-tale Victorian village with over 400 Victorian cottages. Petoskey is a quaint yet sophisticated resort on the Northwest shoreline of Michigan. The Inn is just 2 minutes from the Petoskey Gaslight Shopping District, 5 minutes from Championship Golf Courses and 40 minutes from Mackinac Island.
The Terrace Inn reflects the charm and nostalgia of an earlier era with an eye towards peaceful relaxation and friendly accommodating service. Most hotels of distinction have been lost as time has gone on. Happily, a few of these glorious havens survive. The Hemlock-paneled lobby and parlor, a crackling fire on chilly nights, and a friendly receptionist to greet you create an immediate feeling of warmth and nostalgia. The rooms have been refurbished to offer guests the option of old fashioned rooms without the intrusiveness of phones and non-smoking and whirlpool suites with fireplaces and kitchenettes for guests who want the latest conveniences. Wireless Internet is available.
The spacious air-conditioned dining room is elegant and inviting. The restaurant features vintage-style wallpaper, gleaming wood floors, and authentic Austrian glass chandeliers, and an outdoor veranda. This hotel is not handicapped accessible, however, those with limited mobility will be assisted and can be accommodated.
Guest amenities include golf privileges at Petoskey-Bay View Country Club, swimming at Bay View's private beach, tennis on private courts, hiking and cross country ski trails and complimentary use of bicycles and snowshoes.The Inn has a recreation and TV room and conference rooms.
