The Planters Inn sets the standard in Charleston*s luxury travel market. Constructed in 1844 the inn is comprised of two buildings surrounding a lush courtyard garden. The ongoing non-obtrusive renovations since its opening have allowed the inn to preserve its historic elegance while incorporating some of the best new elements of technology and design. Furnishings are provided primarily by Baker Furniture*s renowned historic Charleston collection. Each guest room features a fine handmade four-poster bed from Baker, a spacious bath of Italian marble, generous floor plans and ten-foot ceilings, which in concert lend an atmosphere, that is uniquely residential and distinctively Charleston. The Inn*s location at the head of the famed open-air market is literally and figuratively at the heart of the city*s historic district placing its guests within easy walking distance to the best of Charleston.
