CRIOLLO RESTAURANT & LOUNGE
New Orleans in its soul is a true blending of many cultures. The European influences, namely Spanish, Italian and French, coupled with prominent contributions of Caribbean and African heritage, have produced one of America's greatest indigenous cuisines, Creole. Criollo, the Spanish word for Creole and the name chosen for the new restaurant, represents the amalgam of cultures reflected in our cooking and the unique tastes that comprise Louisiana cuisine.
Fashioned with Louisiana and the Gulf South region's abundant bounty of fresh, home grown products from land and sea, Criollo's ingredient-driven seasonal menu is designed to offer creative dishes inspired by culinary traditions and an appreciation of today's contemporary tastes.
Criollo is currently open for Breakfast from 6:30am â 11:00am and Lunch from 11:30am â 2:30pm and Dinner from 5:00 p.m.
Carousel Bar & Lounge
Immortalized in the writings of Ernest Hemingway among others, the revolving Carousel Bar is a part of New Orleans history. A long-time favorite New Orleans hotspot and the city's only revolving bar, the famous Carousel Bar has lured guests in to take a spin on the 25-seat, bright circus-clad Merry-Go-Round. It is often filled with colorful local characters telling stories about Hotel Monteleone and our celebrated city.
Installed in 1949, the 25-seat bar turns on 2,000 large steel rollers, pulled by a chain powered by a one-quarter horsepower motor. Patrons circumnavigate at one revolution every 15 minutes.
In addition to the cocktails, The Carousel Bar & Lounge serves âlight bar bitesâ from 11:00 a.m. â 6:00 p.m. daily and showcases a fabulous live musical entertainment schedule featuring some wonderful New Orleans artists, live several nights a week.
