Spring Break Weekend
We loved the Buccaneer. We were upgraded to an ocean front room upon arrival and the room was spacious. The bathroom was also large, with plenty of counter space. We also liked the window seat and the balcony. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We visited the Mermaid and Grotto beaches, just minutes from our room - plenty of palm trees, shade and sun. It was also great that you can get food/drink right at the beaches. The breakfast buffet was large and runs until 10:30 which is nice if you want to sleep in. It was easy to get taxis to and from the hotel each night for dinner. The conceierge desk was also super helpful -booking a sunset sail with the Jolly Roger and a snorkeling day sail to Buck Island with Big Beard - both of which were great. We'd go back in a heartbeat. Wonderful stay!
Best Hotel on St. Croix
Everything about the Buccaneer is top notch. The hotel has a large comfortable, well appointed function room, the food is good, and the staff is friendly, polite and very helpful. I really appreciate the cellphone-free breakfast patio. The Buccaneer is the best of the St. Croix resort hotels.

Morning Stretch
For a nice morning workout get up early, try the exercise "par course" on the jogging trail. Stop at each exercise station along the trail and get your heart pumping.
Wonderful place to stay
Just came back from the island and we stayed at Buccaner Resort for 7 nights and it was breath taking. The room was fabulous, people at this resort cater to their guests, and we were treated exceptionally well. Their concierge Emmy was wonderful, helped us out with all of our travel arrangements because we decided to stay an extra day. We definitely will go back......
Wish we could have stayed
This was our 5th trip to the Caribbean, and ranks in our top 2 along with the Bitter End in the BVI. Staff was very friendly, always saying hello when they walk past. The concierge was always very helpful, assisting us with some rescheduling of activities throughout our week-long stay. For a family vacation, this was very pleasant. We have 2 young children that always had something to do. Kid friendly-ness, I would rate as excellent. Not sure I'd rate it as high for teens/tweens. Unless they like the pool or beach, there isnt alot for teens to do. There are 2 ways I could see that this was a good resort. One, there are couples that have been staying there every year for 15+ years straight. And two, when locals and visitors from other resorts are coming to your resort to relax and have fun, your on to something. We highly recommend one of the "Deluxe Oceanfront", "Frigates", or the Doubloon rooms. They are right near the beaches, pool, and two beachside restaurants. Great for the kids and getting back and forth quickly and easily. Other recommendations: - try to go see the beer-drinking pigs at the Domino Bar and Grill. Its neat. - Take an island tour, which can be booked through the Buccaneer. Alot of fun, but felt rushed to stay on schedule. - Take a snorkel trip to Buck Island. It cant be beat. We used 'Big Beard' but there are several to choose from. - Get into Cristiansted and see the Hermit Crab races at the Brew Pub. Buy a crab and cheer'em on. Complaints: - The pillows suck. Didnt really get a good nights sleep as a result. - Everything is so expensive. Eating (and drinking) at the Buccaneer is particularly expensive. Be prepared.
Week in Paradise
I just returned from a 6 day/5 night stay at the Buccaneer and had a wonderful time! Our room looked out on the ocean and was steps away from one of three private beaches on the complex. The complementary breakfast was delicious, especially the blueberry and chocolate pancakes from the kitchen! There are many things to do while staying at the Buccaneer (golf, swim, tennis, relax to spanish guitar) as well as plenty of opportunities to explore the town and the island. The best part of my stay was a day trip by boat to Buck Island arranged through the Buccaneer. We sailed on the Jolly Roger with Captain Mike to Buck Island and spent the day snorkeling and enjoying the beautiful beaches of this uninhabited island. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation in a not too touristy tropical paradise, this is the place! The people (staff) are extremely welcoming and helpful, the food is delicious, and the sunsets are exquisite. If you're lucky, you might even catch the green flash!
