Riu Emerald Bay All Inclusive

This was a lovely trip. We were there from June 15- 19. We had read the few reviews and were a bit wary but once we got there it was great.The hotel is beautiful. The ocean and pools are gorgeous. We had no trouble with jellyfish. The room was immaculate, the view was breathtaking( junior suite). The service everywhere was friendly and polite and everyone spoke English, some more than others but they understood when we needed something. We met great people too. There were a lot of couples and families there, but not many singles. We spent several days by the pool and the swim up bar. We also watched a few shows which were cute and fun. The bartenders always keep your glass full and never leave you waiting. The restaurants were pretty good especially the breakfast. I would have hoped for more variety at lunch and dinner and better Asain dining but we have been on cruises where the food was top notch and are a bit spoiled. We used the gym, it was nice and new. We went to the golden zone which I did not 'get' but we did hear that some people went to the clubs and loved it. My husband went jet skiing offered through the hotel and had a great time with that. The only disappointment was that there is no room service or coffee in the room in the morning, which I really needed. They also offer only some toilettries and I did not bring hair condintioner or lotion, which they did not have. I know that seems silly and it is but I really expected it. Look out for the humidity because nothing is carpeted and the floors are slippery sometimes. It was really relaxing time, I loved it.
