UNFAIR BILLING

Our hotel stay was from 8/20 until 8/23 and the room was delightful and extremely clean. The food at the Aquamarine Restaurant was not good but very expensive. Example: I was charged 18.83 Singapore Dollars (approximately $13) for a very bad cup of coffee. The biggest problem was in the Atrium Lounge where my daughter and I had paid either $14 or $16 Singapore dollars on 8/21/09 for each glass of champagne. Then on 8/22/09, the waitress suggested that we purchase 1/2 bottles at $18 Singapore dollars. We had a lengthy discussion about the ridiculous difference between the price of a glass vs. the price of a 1/2 bottle. Then when she gave us the bill, she charge $80 Singapore dollalrs per bottle and we had ordered 4 of them durng the evening. Upon checkout on the 22nd, we asked for the Manager and waited almost an hour and the desk girl issued a credit of only $40 vs. over a $224 credit card charge. We had to leave and could not argue the point any longer but we think it was all extremely unfair and recommend travelers to be very careful there since you are not given a receipt until you check out and our waitress absolutely made the error and knew better when we discussed the order with her.

Hotel was lovely and staff was extremely hospital. We were given a complimentary up-grade (w/o our asking). Room looked onto the bay, was very modern and had an amazing turn down service. We purchased breakfast when we checked in and were given a reduced price (from buying in restaurant) and an additional free 6 hours of internet use. Breakfast was extremely good for a buffet. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the hotel is and would go back there.

Long Bar at Raffles Hotel

Be sure to stop by the Raffles Hotel and get a singapore sling at the Long Bar. Although the drink is ""so-so"" it is worth having it in the bar where it originated. Be sure to take your camera - it is a cool bar.

The ambience was good. We had a good city, as well as marina bay view. The staff are corteous. The room was clean. The environmental services comes twice a day to check if you need to clean up your room, organized way of getting a public transportation.\nOne thing I would recommend is to include a free breakfast as a complimentary for taking their country's airline (in my case Singapore air)- this was offered by other website.

Truly one of the leading hotels of the world

This is such an excellent hotel, room has plenty of space, bathroom is so pleasing, everything has a touch of class, even the services. The pool is fantastic with a skyscrapers view of Singapore and open 24 hours. The location is fantastic, with Marina square just next door and close to the City Hall MRT station. I definitely recommend Marina Mandarin hotel.

The Hotel is quite well located for dining, etc. The staff were polite and the service was good. However, the hotel is constructed like a dome with rooms built around it. It has a lounge in the middle with live music throughout the time until 2am. The staff changed room for me once but it did not help at all. It was rather like somebody's karaoke in my room. The staff apologized but the situation did not improve until about 2am. The next morning, at about 7am, I was awakened by "birds" singing (P.A. system). The second night was just the same. My stay was very unpleasant.
