the worst experience ever
We went to the adjacent water-park for a friends birthday. They got a room in the Radisson, and we did not, however we did put our card down for the down payment incase of any damage to the room. The hotel charged my account for the room the next day. I noticed the HUGE mistake on the hotels part the next day and immediately called. The front desk transfered me to the accountant and she seemed to busy to deal with this mistake, told me she would call back, which she never did. So I called to speak to the hotel manager and he replied with, "Sir there is nothing I can do for you, the accountant is out and she has a lot of problems she is dealing with, she will eventually get to yours." Not quite sure what his job is then...and way to make your hotel look good! The end of the next day I was finally able to talk to the accountant I asked for her to refund the money to my account and she replied with, "Well then how are we supposed to get paid?" HA! not my problem! Its between you and the person who reserved the room. Sorry if your hotel is so hard up that you have to basically steal from me to keep going. - the hotel is beautiful the rooms are nice but the service is crap and if you have a problem good luck trying to get it solved
Look for somewhere beter to stay!
First off, don?t ever buy a gift card for here; you get treated as if you are second rate. The gift card is not worth anything until you check out or buy something, and you still need to pay with a credit card up-front for your room and incidentals. Later we decided to order room service and put the kids down for the night. When the food came I was asked to sign for it, and it would go on our gift card, yet about a half hour later we got a phone call telling us that the card machine was still down and that they were going to put it on my credit card instead. The whole idea why we went there was because of the gift card! After 10 minutes or more on the phone with them, I was told they would run it in the morning after the machine was fixed and there tills would not balance out, because of me. We went to check out of our room and spoke to the management at the desk, trying to explain my horrible stay; since their policy and signs all over said Satisfaction Guaranteed. She proceeded to ask me why I didn?t call down when it was happening or when we first observed it so she could of made it right. Even though she was the one that checked me in and gave me most of the problems. As for the building, there was a Kool-Aid stain on the wall in our room, in the elevator the carpet was duct taped down in a corner and there was graffiti on the walls as well. There was poor maintenance and up keeping, to say it nicely.
Great Overnight Stay, June 09
Comfortable, and immaculate. Stayed overnight after tending to details of a death in my family. Wanted somewhere to refresh and regroup. The hotel is very family oriented being attached to a water park and close to Mall of America. Nonetheless it was quiet and relaxing and everyone was friendly and welcoming. The shuttle to the airport was on time in the morning too. I would definitely stay again.
Not quite up to par
Although the inside of the hotel is beautiful, it was certainly misleading. The hotel personnel cannot handle the volume of people that were there last weekend. I arrived at 2:00 - hoping to get my room a bit earlier - 4:00 pm is the normal check in. The desk clerk took my cellphone number and told me she would call when the room was ready. I went shopping at the MOA. At 4:00, I still didn't get a phone call so I returned to the hotel. There were over 70 people in line - it took up the entire lobby. Since I was checked in - I didn't have to wait in that line THANK GOD!!! One family told me that they were in line until 6:00 before they got their room. The waterpark is beautiful - my children enjoyed themselves immensely. Remember to bring your own towel because the waterpark RAN OUT OF TOWELS. Once again, a sign of their incompetence. I do plan on coming back to the hotel - luckily I got a coupon from the MOA coupon book (buy one night, get one half price). The hotel really should train their employees a bit.
pleasant stay
I would recommend the Radisson for families. The water park is great but is geared more towards younger children. After a couple of hours my teenagers got bored with it. It is very nice though! The front desks were very helpful. We weren't satisfied with the type of room we had and they upgraded us to a better room. They were also helpful with locating a missing cell phone charger. One thing that I didn't like was that there wasn't a pool besides the waterpark. I knew that before I booked this. I heard other adults mention the same issue.
