Hotel Grand Pacific

Everything was very very nice. We revisit Victoria frequently and found this hotel to be very comfortable and friendly. The pool is always important to our family and this facility is top notch.However,I found the charge for local calls to be chintzy, we paid a fair price for a quality stay and strongly believe local calls should be included. Small item but it rubs me the wrong way.

This is a very expensive hotel with cheap room furniture. Seriously, I paid nearly $* per night for a room with scratched furniture, a cheap couch, and no pizzazz. They offer few amenities over a $* a night hotel. No continental breakfast, guests must pay to use the business center ($5 for 15 minutes!!), and $20 for valet parking. My dining experience in the hotel restaurant was terrible. We wanted to eat out on the patio, which irritated our waiter to the point that he refused to serve us. The waitress who took his place forgot us twice. We upgraded to a suite, which wasn't worth the extra money -- again cheap furniture and a view of another hotel's parking lot. This hotel is beautiful on the outside, but plain and lousy inside. I feel ripped off.

Hardest bed I have ever had the misfortune to sleep in. Bathroom not clean, was greeted with previous guest's urine still in toilet & dirty towels hanging on shower rod. ""Fresh"" snack packages in mini-bar basket very dusty Unfortunately, time committments prevented me from phoning/waiting for manager so I mentioned this on checkout. I did receive an apology from the check-out staff but I won't be staying at this hotel again. This is completely unacceptable for a 5-star hotel."

This was the first visit to Victoria for my wife and I. After extensive research, I chose the Hotel Grand Pacific. When we checked in, there was an error in our reservation, and our room had two double beds right over the entrance. I called the manager, who came up, and proceeded to show me every available room in the hotel - we could have any other room - no additional charge. We chose a suite overlooking the harbour. Fantastic.
