Great People Staff and Nice Stay

Guillermo R. from Barranquilla, CO – Would stay again

I definitively stay in this hotel again. Staff on this hotel are helpful and kindness, they tried to help you in the most way they can do. Bed are really comfortable and the weather in Costa Rica allows you not to turn on the air conditioning, but I like cold rooms so I turned in and the temperature was really cold as I want. This hotel has pool so you can swin from 6 am to 6 pm. I recommend to do it by midday or early in the afternoon when the sun is high and become hot so you can not feel to freezing the water in the pool. This hotel is near everything, so you can walk up to Central Avenue where you can find many shops and food courts to have a lunch. This hotel is located in a bad neighborhood so if you have business to do in the city, do it in the day because the night is to relax in the room. I really enjoyed doing business from this hotel, front desk staff is really good and helpful. Breakfast is great, you will have options to have. You can have a local breakfast ;Gallo Pinto, or an American Breakfast and as always coffee is free. The hotel has a tour operator so you can make travel plans to go to another place in the country. I will be coming back with my wife here again.

Shopping in the day

I really recommend to do shopping during the day so you can walk from the hotel to another places. If you need to go outside in the night, the option is to take cab to go or to return.

This is a great hotel in the heart of the city. The staff is friendly and helpful. The courtyard is nice with a good pool and a small but decent bar/restaurant. Friends of hotel guests are welcome so long as they sign in. Almost always a cab waiting out front and if not it was never more than a 2 or 3 minute wait to get one. Yes the neighborhood is rough on the eyes but for the price and the way you are greeted and treated it is well worth it!

Avoid at all Cost

The hotel is nice on the inside.. Nice pool.. Nice people. But from a person who grew up in the ghetto, I'd have to say this neighborhood makes the ghetto look like DisneyLand! You're better offer staying at the other Best Western outside of the city or the Sleep Inn or the Holiday Inn.

A true Oasis

Anonymous from Sarasota, FL – Would stay again

This hotel is not in the best part of town but offers a hotel taxi service 24 hrs for tips only. During the daytime it is safe to walk if you wish. Very nice rooms, clean with good amenities, room safes, very friendly, helpful staff. Free breakfast and evening cocktails. I have stayed here over 10 times and have always been very pleased with the service. For those of you who may have the occassion to bring a guest back to the hotel, it is permitted but you'll have to have the guest sign in at the desk. Ther is also 24hr security personnel and a secured parking area. There are certainly nicer places to stay in San Jose but you cannot beat this hotel for the price.

The hotel was good. We only slept there and went out on tours each day.\nThe neighborhood was not the best, we thought we heard gun shots one night. The next morning the guard confirmed it. We did feel save in the hotel.

4 in 1 tour from Tropical Expeditions

Bus picked up and returned to hotel. Had an English speaking guide. Saw many execellent attreactions like coffee plantation, volcano, waterfall park, river boat ride, and meals all for the tour price. A long day but well worth it.
