Wonderful Hotel
We stayed at the Marriott Montreal Chateau Champlain the last week of October, 2009. It is a beautiful hotel. The view from our room was spectacular. We faced the street and overlooked the Queen Mary Mother of the World Church as well as another church and parks. It was so beautiful each morning looking out the window and at night watching all the lights of the buildings. Everyone at the hotel was very polite and helpful. My French extends to good day, good evening, yes, goodbye, and no, yet the staff was understanding and spoke English for us. I don't think we could have asked for a nicer stay or hotel. I would highly recommend it.
Good hotel - just don't plan to eat there
We stayed at the Montreal Chateau Champlain the second week of August, 2009. The room was quite comfortable, and we enjoyed the northwest-facing view toward the rest of the city. Daily maid service was fine, as were the other hotel services we used. The downside of the hotel, for us, was the lack of a dining room. We were told that the dining room was closed for lack of traffic. Of course, that's a big clue that the food isn't great. We did order from an extremely limited menu in the bar but the food was just so-so. Fortunately, Montreal reportedly has 5,000 restaurants, and we had no trouble finding enjoyable ones, and received excellent restaurant recommendations from the hotel concierge. All things considered, we probably would not return since there are so many options.
Great hotel!
What a pleasant experience! My husband and I enjoyed Montreal. My surprise was to find that the hotel had a metro station right below it! I felt secured to travel the metro even at late hours in the night. Front desk were very courteous, room was cleaned, and elegant. We highly recommend this hotel for your stay!!!
Wonderful Hotel!
I accompanied my husband on a business trip and this was the hotel his company picked for him. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the view was fabulous! Looking out of the window every night at the city was one of my favorite parts of the trip. There are plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance so we never even used the subway, but you can access it from the hotel. Also, they offer free wireless high-speed internet which you can log into on a daily basis, and a free newspaper every morning!
Absolute Best
Just returned today. We had an amazing time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Marriott Chateau Champlain. Very friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms, and excellent service. Serously. Amazing view from the rooms! We were able to book a day trip to Quebec City through hte concierge. It also has easy acces to the underground Metro system from the hotel lobby. I did not rate the amenities my family and I did not use, such as the pool and the fitness center, but I gave the restaurant a fair rating because it was good but awfully expensive for a family of 6 (breakfast only), and they couldn't get any of the eggs cooked to our specification - we ordered hard fried but despite it being hard fried, the yokes were still very runny. But there are lots of other places to eat so that was not a problem at all. Valet was $24 a day, regardless of how many hours in the day you actually use it. Will most definitely stay here agian though.

Best Brunch Places
For breakfast or brunch, try Eggspectations or Cora's, both close enough to the Marriott Chateau Champlain ~ about a 10 minute drive. St. Hubert is another nice restaurant that actually delivers to the hotel, but there is also one located within a short walk from the hotel. It's a nice experience eating there.
