Family Friendly Resort
We stayed in the Garden Conservatory and had a room overlooking the garden. It was beautiful! My 5yo loved the thousands of lights hanging from the ceiling. With the curtains drawn, and balcony doors closed, the room was quiet, even when the band played in the courtyard. Our room was newly refurbished, and well appointed.Any staff member I encountered was very gracious. (I inadvertantly asked an IT guy for directions and he was happy to help me.)I agree to bring comfortable shoes, as there is a lot to see/do, and very spread out.The grounds were confusing at first, but after 1 day, I felt I knew my way around.
Grand Gaylord
They should rename this place "The Grand Gaylord". It is amazing, the staff was friendly and knowledgable, and there is something for everyone of any age. I highly recommend the Gaylord to anybody who might be considering a trip to Nashville.
Did not meet specifications
My husband and I chose the Romantic Memories package to celebrate our honeymoon. On the actual hotel's website it gives many packages and what is included in these packages so it is clear what to expect which is good. Although, they do not just PROVIDE these amenities, we had to call the desk to receive our complimentary wine and strawberries. Our bed was supposed to be turned down and a gourmet chocolate placed on our pillows, we did not receive this. The next morning we awoke to an apology letter for the problem along with two free meals, drinks, and gratuity for my husband and I. This was very nice, but we did not receive our $* VIP coupon book from the hotel, and it also stated in the package that we were to have "breakfast in bed" which we also did not receive. This hotel is very beautiful and has very many things to do, I am just upset that we did not receive the things we were entitled to, and had to ask to receive the things we did.
Planning to return and bringing more money!!!
The hotel was amazing....Gaylord properties are very well run and beautiful! We plan to return in the Spring!!! There are a lot of "nickel and dime" fees though.....resort fee, self parking fee, wi fi charges and of course a slew of hotel taxes. Plan to increase your bill by 49% because of these fees!!!! It is expensive to operate a place that includes many onsite restaurants, shoppes, shows and beautifully maintained inner sanctuaries. Regardless, can't wait to return!!!!
Beautiful
Hotel is beautiful, people friendly, Hard to find room. The housekeeping in our room was not up to standard. Hotel needs to refurbish. We were there for fifteen nights. We were there for pleasure and a convention. Convention facilities were Great!!!!!!!!!!. We will be staying there again in 2010.
