Great Location, Great Value
I popped into DC overnight to take in an art exhibit at the Sackler Gallery. This hotel was perfectly situated just a block or two from the Mall, and within easy walking distance of all the Smithsonian museums and the National Gallery. For someone who hates to drive in Dc, it was easy to get to and from the highway. Parking was conveniently located underneath the hotel. The staff was friendly, and the room very clean, roomy and comfortable. It was nice having a Starbucks in the hotel, too! There aren't a lot of good restaurant options in the immediate vicinity, but the Metro is very close, and can get you anywhere in the city. I can't wait to make another trip to DC and stay there. So convenient to everything I want to see!
great location
The hotel was clean and the staff was very helpful. The property was well maintained and not at all shabby. Beds were comfortable; we had enough towels without having to ask for more; internet access was trouble free. The location is convenient to attractions and public transportation. A map in the lobby to help guests find the metro and nearby sites would be a great addition because while the hotel is close to the National Mall, the Capitol, and a metro station, it's a bit boxed in and it's easy to head the wrong way. Visible information in the lobby about using DC's great public transportation system would be a real plus. The maps we had were confusing about where to enter the nearest metro station, which it turns out has three entrances. The area "behind" the hotel is a bit intimidating, especially at night. One of the metro entrances is more convenient and the walk to it is much nicer and we had to figure it out by trial and error. Many of the places to eat within walking distance of the hotel are not open late, or on the weekends which is a bit problematic if you don't want to pay hotel food prices and still want to stay close in the evening.

Do your transportation homework
If you do your homework before your trip to DC using the Metro is a cinch. Use the Metro's on-line trip planner to plan your transportation needs before you go. Public transportation is clean, safe, and efficient in DC. You can get to all of the big tourist destinations very easily.
DC review
Hotel was extremely convenient, just 2 blocks from the air and space museum. There is also a Quiznos, McDonalds and CVS pharmacy on the same block. Hotel buffet was fine and access to 2 restaurants in the hotel. Most of the better restaurants are on the other side of the mall.
Outstanding!
Wondeful clean rooms, comfy beds and the concierge was the best. He helped my granddaughter and I book trips and tours of Washington D.C. Our dinner in Georgetown on the promonade was delightful. Taxi's are always available there as well as a Starbucks in the hotel and McDonalds down the street. I would highly recommend this hotel for comfort, convenience to the Capital and the museums of the city.
Excellent Hotel!!
This was a family Spring Break trip & we were looking for a hotel that was convenient to the sites in DC, this hotel was PERFECT!! We took the Metrorail from the airport & were less than a block away from the hotel (sure beats the cost of a cab!) We were walking distance from just about everything, The Mall, The Capitol, The Museums, etc..The hotel was very clean, the staff was wonderful, the rooms were large. We traveled with two 7 year olds & everyone was very accomodating. We will definately be back!!
