Wonderful vacation spot!
Delux accomodations....they have thought of everything to make your stay a joy. So clean and the rooms are really beautiful and spacious. The grounds of the resort are so lovely and well cared for. All of the help were friendly and ready to assist you. We will definitely return to this special place.
Think twice before staying here.
I was very disappointed in my stay at this resort. While the staff was very nice, they told us we were being 'upgraded" and then we were given a very old , raggedy, condo a mile from the hotel . We were not able to get room service because of the distance. The condo was for sale and had been marked down twice. It was obvious why no one was purchasing it. Things were broken and in poor repair. I would not recommend this resort unless you know you are staying in the hotel or a newer condo close to the hotel. Atlanta traveler
Lovely Resort
The Inn is lovely. We purchased a package on travel website and to my knowledge it only included a standard hotel room, but we were upgraded to a suite without even having to ask! Don't bother with valet parking - it just takes too much time to wait for your car. You can easily walk over the the garage under the Villages and park your own car - it's all free.
Excellent Value - Beautiful Resort
Just got back from a great weekend at Wild Dunes Resort. Friendly courteous staff, excellent value, clean rooms, great food, and beautiful beaches. What more could you ask for? They have a TON of activities for adults & children. I would most definitely stay at this resort again and recommend it to my friends.

Boathouse at Breach Inlet
Wonderful food & great atmosphere
Nice, but Pricey
My wife wanted to stay at a "Resort" rather than a hotel. I learned that "Resort" means expect to pay - a lot. Not only is the hotel expensive, they tack on "resort" fee. I never found out what that was for. We stayed 4 nights at the Boardwalk Inn. The hotel is very nice and the room large & comfortable. The hotel is all valet parking & in a gated community at the end of the island, all designed to encourage you stay on the property & pay their ridiculously high prices. No complimentary breakfast (or even coffee) in this place. Plan on spending $$ in the dining room. You can go to the "market" which is owned by the resort so that is expensive too. The hotel has a very nice pool area, but to get to the beach, you have to go down the boardwalk which is a bit of a hike. The beach is very nice, sandy & wide, thanks to mother nature. The golf course, tennis & bike rentals ar all very conviently located near the hotel. The fitness center is large & well equiped, but still not enough machines for the guests that wanted to use it. Plan on about a 20-25 minute into downtown Charleston, depending on traffic. I probably wouldn't stay again. For my money, I'd prefer to get a condo on a less-exclusive development, where I could walk out to the beach.

Boone Hall Plantation
Boone Hall Plantation is a short drive from the Wild Dunes. Looks like an authentic plantation. The grounds are authentic, but the plantation house was built in 1935. They should tell you that in case you were expecting an authentic plantation house.
