Best Western Inn Towne Hotel

Our reservation designated a non-smoking room, and when we arrived none were available. They were able to move us on the next day, but the HVAC system still seemed to be putting the smell of smoke in the room. All rooms were heavily perfumed, masking something or other, Desk staff was generally surly throughout the stay - not a good first impression, and one that was not changed throughout the four days. Rooms had no internet access, just a sharable computer on the third floor, of twelve. Bath towels were small and thin.

I've stayed here 3 times so far, the last Sept 3rd 2008. The place is clean with fiendly service and the bed is comfortable. Check-in and out is always fast and accurate.The location is outstanding. The bus pickup to Miller park is only 1/2 block away and costs $ ea. way. Bradley center is only 4 blocks away abd there are restaurants and cocktal lounges up and down the whole street. On Wisconsin Ave within 1-4 blocks of hotel is shopping and wonderful restaurants: Mo's Irish Pub and Eatery, Miller Pub at the Hilton, Rock Bottom and Hawk's Pub on the river and many more. Not to be missed: Art museum on the Lake, Harley Davidson museum on Canal and 6th. I'll stay here often again. TI don't know how they came up with the 2.5 stars because this is at least a 3 star.

There's a Walgreens 1/2 block away on Wisconsin if you forgot to bring something or someone gets sick.

We stayed there during the 105th H-D Rally and the hotel was great! Everyone was pleasant, very nice, accommodating. Unfortunately, when we checked out, I left acticles of clothing in the dresser drawer. I called as soon as we returned home. However nothing was turned in by the housekeeping staff. Knowing I never even open those drawers at all to clean them out, my error, the personel I spoke with at that time, said to call back and speak to the GM & head of housekeeping. I have never recieved a call back from either, I have even emailed the GM. It was my mistake for leaving the clothing behind but the housekeeping staff, if having done their job correctly, would have turned my clothing in to the lost & found and returned to them to me. To date, I've had no response from anyone in the hotel at all. However, as I said, my fault for leaving things behind, theirs for theft. But, will stay there again. great location..will just double check, and double check again to make sure I have all my things. First time this has ever happend that I have left anything behind and not gotten it back, lesson learned.

This hotel is not fancy, but it gets the job done. The room was clean and bright. We did have some plumbing issues that were cleared up quickly. Centrally located to all the attractions that we were there to see.

River Walk

The Milwaukee River walk is very near the Hotel, and it has some great spots to sit out and dine/ cocktail!
