Everything was excellent except for the breakfast. The coffee wasn't hot!

Some good and some bad here

David K. from San Luis Obispo, CA – Wouldn't stay again
Stayed Sep 2008, 3 days

On the plus side: very reasonable rates, green landscaping, not terribly far from downtown Vancouver, and generally helpful staff. On the minus side: no amenities, little to do in the neighbourhood, rooms below street level, small shower, and a long walk to the Skytrain station. I read some of the other reviews, and I guess the breakfast coupons have been upgraded (now $4 each at either McDonald's or the Tipper restaurant across the street). It's possible to get downtown in about 1/2 an hour hour taking public transit.

adding to my last review....

Tom D. from Victoria, BC – Wouldn't stay again
Stayed Feb 2008, 1 day

The "complimentary" breakfest that they advertise is nothing more then a $2 coupon for Mcdonalds. That won't even get you a hashbrown and coffee nevermind a whole breakfest.\n\nStaff at the front desk seemed to have not been surprised at all at the issue's I had with my stay. The hooker showing up at 2am seemed like a normal occourance to them.\n\nThe "suite" that I had asked about upgrading to when I first checked into that were booked solid all week already suddenly became available at no extra charge when I had something to complain about.

Value for Money

Anonymous from Shanghai, CN – Would stay again
Stayed Feb 2008, 5 days

We stayed there on our way to Whistler. It was value for money for sure. However, we drive, so the location was not an issue. As faras the breakfast in McDonald's, we did not mind at all. Each of us got a CDN $2 coupon for the breakfast. Comparing to other motels the offers nothig, we thought it was a nice gesture.\n\nThe rooms are very clean and well kept. It was also quiet at night so we got good rest. The front desk staffs hardly smiled but they were efficient. Bathroom is on a small side and would definitely present a challenge if your are on the large side. \n\nOverall, it was money for value and I would go back again!

Gastronomic Vancouver

Highly recommend Shijo on West Broadway if you are into fresh Japnese food. The ambiance was OK but the food definitely outshines any flaw it might have. We had sashimi and sushi. The quality was excellent and the price is reasonable comparing to what we are used to in HK and Shanghai.\n\nA Kettle of Fish on Pacific Avenue near the Burrard Bridge is another great restaurant for seafood lovers. The daily oysters are very fresh though the restaurant is a bit pricy. Great for romantic evening, celebrating a special occassion or simply indulgence!

Small room and breakfast is junk

Justiono P. from Singapore, SG – Wouldn't stay again
Stayed Nov 2007, 2 days

The room is small and the breakfast is junk. The female manager doesn't seem to care or be helpful to customer at all, when I complaint about problem with the breakfast. Dont take this hotel into your consideration.
