Just Okay..Horrible Customer Service
My finance were very excited about this hotel until we got there. We arrived to the hotel about 30 min, before the hotel restaurant was closing. Therefore, I hurried to the bar to try to place an order, but because I had a soda bottle in my hand the waitress would not take my TO GO order. She said, "You can't have that in here, if you put your bottle in your purse then I will take your order." Needless to say, I didn't put my bottle in my purse, and I ended up going into the restaurant to order my dinner to eat in my room. The next day, I was head to the restaurant and the housekeeper told me that I couldn't go in the restaurant because her floor was wet, and she didn't want me to walk on it. I have traveled around the world, and I have never experienced poor customers service like that. The rooms were okay, but not as nice as I had expected for a 4-star hotel. But I guess if you pay $*, what more can you expect. Don't get excited about the Avenda products, it is not what you expect either.
Great hotel all around
My hubby and I chose to stay here for a New Years Eve get-away. We had the king executive room with a decent view; it was roomy and the decor was neat. I'm usually not picky about a hotel, as long as it's safe, clean and homey feeling. Our room was VERY clean and comfortable, as well as the rest of the hotel. I felt very at home. The service at the hotel was great and everyone was friendly; we had no problems with the room or any special requests. Room service was also good. The only bad thing I have to mention is that our room didn't have a fridge, so it was a hassle trying to keep our drinks cold. Also, the bar downstairs wasn't much to brag about: the drinks were poorly mixed, and I didn't even get the right drink that I ordered. Not sure if it was just the bartender or what.. but we would definitely stay here again. The price is great, along with the atmosphere and location.
Not What You Think
does not fairly represent this hotel. It claims that it is a four start hotel, but all other websites say it is only a 3.5 star hotel. I booked the hotel without knowing the name (secret hotel deal). There is NO WAY that it is a four star hotel! There is horrible smoke smell in the elevator and all the way down the halls. Also, a smoke smell comes through the air filter in the bathroom. This is interesting since all but one floor of the hotel is supposed to be non-smoking. The hotel is very dark inside. The rooms are clean, but not special. The furnishings are new looking. However, it is very obvious that this is an OLD hotel that has tried to look new by adding some paint. After the first day, the sink started clogging and water wouldn't drain. The walls are very thin and you can easily hear conversations in the hall or other rooms. If all of this isn't bad enough, the worst part of all is that it is located AT THE END OF THE AIRPORT RUNWAY! You can easily hear planes as they fly directly over your hotel room. The surrounding neighborhood is also scary. I have a new car and was scared to drive it after reading other people's reviews. After seeing the area for myself, don't drive a car that someone might want to steal. This hotel is represented as being a "nice" hotel in Nashville. I am not sure where this is coming from because it is one of the worst places I have stayed. Luckily, I had only booked it for one night. One night was more than enough. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.
excellent stay
we only spent one night, but the service, the room and the whole experence was great. Close enough to get a taxi down town, which we did and enjoyed that as well.
Great Experience
Arrived with my wife for a 3 day getaway in Nashville. First time staying at the Preston and would definately stay here again. The guest services staff is very courteous and went out of their way to make our stay more enjoyable. We asked about local restaurants and entertainment and they gave excellent recomendations. Room was furnished well and was clean with the exception of a cigarette burn in the sheet of the bed, room was ""non smoking"". Had a partial view of city from the room and the pool was open and maintained. Did not book room through ONLINE TRAVEL WEBSITE as the rate was the same as the hotel site but the tax was higher through ONLINE TRAVEL WEBSITE , first time I found this to be the case. Food at hotel average but everything else was top notch.
