excellent stay
we only spent one night, but the service, the room and the whole experence was great. Close enough to get a taxi down town, which we did and enjoyed that as well.
Great Experience
Arrived with my wife for a 3 day getaway in Nashville. First time staying at the Preston and would definately stay here again. The guest services staff is very courteous and went out of their way to make our stay more enjoyable. We asked about local restaurants and entertainment and they gave excellent recomendations. Room was furnished well and was clean with the exception of a cigarette burn in the sheet of the bed, room was ""non smoking"". Had a partial view of city from the room and the pool was open and maintained. Did not book room through ONLINE TRAVEL WEBSITE as the rate was the same as the hotel site but the tax was higher through ONLINE TRAVEL WEBSITE , first time I found this to be the case. Food at hotel average but everything else was top notch.
It was JUST ok at best.
Don't be fooled by the their site. My wife and I were really let down after arriving. The front desk staff was OK but did not go out of their way to make your stay pleasant and seem to care less if you were there or not. The room was just a basic two bed motel room with fancy colors unlike the pictures they show on the site. The beds were just normal Motel 6 mattresses with a pad on them. Nothing plush as your led to believe. The worse part about the stay was they charge you 9 BUCKS A DAY for WIFI!!!!!! Totally ridiculous in my opinion. Also, THERE IS NO COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST of any kind. Not even a roll or a doughnut. Seems as if they try to drive people to their overpriced restaurant which was empty the whole weekend we were there it seemed like. The good news is this...location is great. Close to everything. The Pink Slip staff were nice and the band was great. Thats about it. Not sure if we will stay again unless they lower their prices to about 59 bucks.
Hotel Preston
Web site no comparison to actual hotel. Terrible experience, noisy, decor from the 70's, hotel rooms with odor.
Would stay again
Very convenient location. It's 3 minutes away from the airport, 8 minutes from downtown, easy travel to the Opry and Hermitage etc. Hotel room was very comfortable and clean. Looks very upscale without the burdening price. Did eat at the hotel restaurant once. Once. I'll leave it at that, but there are plenty of places to go...just ask the front desk for suggestions and they'll send you off in the right direction with printed directions (nice touch). For a similar hotel in terms of quality, I've paid double the price before, so this one is a bargain.

Ask front desk for restaurant suggestions
Was directed to go to the Loveless which is a bit of a drive away, but definitely worth the trip. Great southern cooking, period.
