4 Stars For Sure But a Couple Minor Disappointments.
The hotel is really beautiful. The hotel lobby inviting, and the staff very helpful. We found the lack of air conditioning or air circulation in the hotel common areas surprising (back lobby, restaurants, corridors, and most especially the elevator.) It was very hot when we were there, and since we were 7 floors "down" the elevator was a necessity, but we dreaded using it due to the extreme stuffiness! Like many of the resorts in the area, it is fairly isolated, would strongly suggest renting a car at the airport where better deals can be found (we rented from the hotel after realizing our mistake). Our room was very private (Club Level), quiet, well air-conditioned, comfortable, and room service was great. We took advantage of the "Club Level" amenities enjoying a light breakfast and happy hour in the club almost daily. The pools are spectacular, especially the infinity edge pool. The beach is beautiful, but not a swimmers beach, it is rocky with a powerful surf. A minor disappointment after arriving almost 6 hours late, we were too tired to venture into Cabo San Lucas, so we decided to have our first dinner at the Peninsula restaurant. We ordered a moderately priced bottle of wine (560MP). When the waiter returned, he brought two bottles, neither of which we ordered and both priced over 650MP, explaining that they were out of our bottle. We refused both bottles, and ordered water. When the waiter returned he brought with him the bottle we had originally ordered, explaining that they found one last bottle! I would not have expected this type of behavior in a hotel of this caliber.

Rent a Car!
Like many resorts in the area, it is fairly isolated. We did not rent a car at the airport and immediately regreted it. We did rent a car from the Dollar Rental Car representative on site at the Hotel, paying more than we would have had we rented from the airport!
The Fiesta Americana exceeded our expectations
Great location, service was wonderful (staff knew our names by the second day); clean and comfortable rooms with view of ocean. The pools and beach areas were very comfortable and spacious providing a feeling of privacy from other guests. The Peninsula restaurant served great seafood dishes for lunch and dinner at reasonable prices. Room service was prompt and a good value. The Somma Wine Spa was beautiful with skilled staff. Would definitely come back.
Great - helpful friendly staff
visited week of 04/13/09, property well cared for, staff very helpful, no problems. would stay again, and recommend. On site restaurants expensive but food and selection very good, on site gift shop (sodas, sandwiches, etc) very reasonably priced.
Can't wait to go back...EVERY YEAR!
This was our first trip to Cabo and our first time at a Fiesta Americana. We traveled in April 09, right after Easter. We had a fantastic time! We traveled without our 2 young children and stayed in the hotel section for 4 nights. The grounds are gorgeous, with pools looking right over the ocean. The pools are surrounded by lush vegetation, plenty of umbrellas, and towel/bar service. There are several hot tubs, with varying heat. The one closest to the Peninsula restaurant is warmest. The bar service is impeccable and the waiters are highly attentive (especially *!). The employees are there to make sure you enjoy your vacation, not to ensure a good tip, which we found refreshing. The pool chairs are first-come, first-served, but some people ask the pool bar waiters to put books down to reserve their spots. Feel free to move those. The beach is very accessible and there are cabanas and umbrellas right on the beach. The sand is very course, more pebble-like than sand and can be rough on the feet. Next year, when we return with our boys, we will definitely bring water shoes. The ocean near the hotel is very rocky, with tide pools, so it's not ideal for swimming in, but it is possible. Our room was quite nice, with a good shower, comfortable bed and a lanai. The air temp was good, with ocean breeze or air conditioning. All rooms are ocean view. We ate at the Vina del Mar for breakfast and ordered alacarte and the buffet. Both are tasty. The Peninsula is fantastic, great view and good food. We did not eat at Rosado. The spa is gorgeous and we both had great massages- compliments of the vacation club tour...WHICH WE BOUGHT! and can't wait to go back!
Just what we expected!!!
My husband and I took our two girls, 18 and 24. It was our first trip to Cabo San Lucas. I read reviews on several web sites before choosing this resort. We made a good choice. The grounds were beautiful. One of the few hotels with a tropical landscape. The beach was amazing. Part of the beach was rocky. Watching the waves break over the rocks made the beach more interesting. At low tide there were several tidal pools and everyday people were snorkeling. The spa is very nice. We had two rooms in the grand club section which gave us grand club privledges. It cost a little more, but we enjoyed the complimentary snacks and beverages all day. We ate breakfast there. There were fresh fruits, meat, breads, and cheese. It was very nice. It kept us away from the tempting breakfast buffet. We ate most dinner meals in Cabo. It is $20 round trip, but worth not having to drive. The resort is all about relaxation so if you want activities other than beach, pool, spa, or golf you will need to go in town or do an excursion. The only negative was some costruction noise due to villas being built on a nearby hill. We could barely hear it on the beach. We attended the time share presentation. It was high pressure, maybe worth the 3 hours for the $300 we saved on dolphin adventure and horseback riding. Simply, we will stay at his resort again when we return to Cabo. I am very picky about where we stay on vacation. This resort met all my expectations. We also felt very safe, the resort is in a gated community. Book your transportation from the airport prior to travel so you can avoid any confusion at the airport.
