While the Online travel agency price was below the price on the Providence Biltmore website, the comfort of the room itself was overstated by Travelocity. The furniture in the living space needed reupholstering, the AC units were in poor condition, the bathroom countertop space was almost non-existent, and the shower water pressure was very poor. The hotel is in a great location, the staff suggested a very good place for breakfast one morning but didn't seem aware as to which places were open for breakfast or brunch or at all (DownCity has a great brunch). The consierge and valet service were very friendly, almost overly so. The location itself is very close to a mall, in case you forget to pack something. If you're going to stay there and have the time, take the trolley tour that starts and ends around the corner fromt he building.
Classy, Clean, Good Location
The Hotel itself was very clean, the staff courteous and helpful. The room was more than I expected.I reserved a basic king room and was given a junior suite . The views were spectacular. My only complaint was the lack of info on the trolley I could have saved a few dollars on taxi fare to local attractions. I found the trains and busses conveniently within walking distance from the hotel. The property does not have a breakfast but, there is a Starbnucks in the lobby; a few blocks down there was a Dunkin Doughnuts and a fabulous family owned diner. The seafood restaurant in the lobby of the hotel was pricey but, excellent. Afew minutes ride away there is an abundance of restaurants. There was a $24.00 a night parking fee for your car but, there are parking costs anywhere in the city; the staff was very fast to retreive the car when requested.Overall it was a good stay.

Bring Cash
The commuter train only took cash. Bring lots of it; you will need it. Many businesses were on a cash only basis and I got stuck paying ATM fees for items I assumed I could use my debit or credit card to pay.
Nice old world charm!
We stayed at the Biltmore for 2 days in April 2008 (a mom and 2 young kids, along with a friend and her daughter in a separate room). We prepaid on the travel website for a run of the house room for around $135 and when we saw the room, realized it was way too small for our needs for 2 days (a king size bed and no room for much else) - would have been ok for one person or a couple maybe, but not kids. But for $30 more per night we upgraded to a jr. suite which was fantastic - 2 king beds with flat screen tv plus a separate room/sitting area with tv, fold out sofa, etc. Tons of space and nice elegant decor. We loved it! It was a great deal for all the space we had and had a nice luxurious feel while still being pretty kid friendly. Our friends were right next door. Starbucks in lobby is very helpful. Good central location although downtown Providence is a little dull. Valet parking took a while to retrieve car from garage every time we needed it but overall we had a great stay. The hotel has a somewhat old world feel and beautiful lobby. Hairdryer in bag in bathroom is a pain - minor gripe but you have to use it in the toilet/bathtub room instead of out near the sink which might have been easier. Would definitely stay here again!
Great Hotel
I decided to stay at the Providence Biltmore cause I thought it was part of ""the Biltmore""chain.(which it isn't but still just as nice) When I arrived I was greeted by a doorman and my bags were already on a cart. I was brought to the front desk and they already knew my name! The lobby looked so charming. When I got to the room it was so nice. I walked in and there was 2 big beds a nice size living room. In the bedroom a huge Plasma screen. All I can say is it was the best night sleep i have had in years! I will return to the Biltmore real soon.
Excellent -- they needed only one more thing...
they need a rubber mat in every bathtub.
