The Golden Nugget
This hotel since the revamp is a Posh and pleasant experience. While anyone can pay LOTS MORE $$$ you won't find a better deal in the downtown area. The desk and floor personell were MORE than helpful and cheery. WIN LOOSE OR DRAW The Nugget was A GOLDEN place to stay and will be one of me next choices when I return! There was a shortage of face cloths but beyond that.... I rate this trip 5 stars!
color blind
I'm a little confused. Why are brown people missing from all of your ads. And, why does your front desk staff treat brown people as though they should be at your hotel. I will never return....this is 2009, this should not be happening.
Nicest Hotel Downtown
First time to stay downtown wanting a less hectic atmosphere than the the strip. The hotel is very well maintained on Fremont St. placing it right in the middle of the nightly light show aka "The Fremont Experience." Dined in the cafe once and was reasonable with a nice variety. The lunch buffet had a good variety though seemed institutional though inexpensive. Was disappointed to find out the Keno system shut down at night leaving me to waste a multi-ticket since I had to catch a plane early in the morning. For those wanting to visit the strip there is the "Deuce" Bus that runs regularly from downtown to the south end of the strip and is only a few bucks though takes about an hour due to the many hotel stops. I took a city bus from the airport to downtown for $*. Leaving I took a taxi to the airport from downtown for $* plus $* tip. Both rides took an hour. Go figure. All in all the hotel is very nice and I would stay there again.

How to Buy Show Tickets
If you want to buy show tickets buy them directly from the theater box office. You can call the box office and purchase them with a credit card then on the eve of the show pick them up at the door. If you purchase elsewhere you will likely pay much extra since you will get a "brokered" ticket.
WE WILL BE BACK
Can't wait to return next year to the GOLDEN NUGGET for Halloween. Absolutely beautiful hotel and right in the heart of the Freemont Street Experience.
LOVE LOVE LOVE
I can't express how much we enjoyed our stay at the Golden Nugget. EVERY SINGLE staff member, from the concierge and wait staff to the dealers and pit bosses were extrememely helpful, polite, and fun to be around. We will stay here EVERY time we go to Vegas.
