Marriott South Beach

No major complaints about the Marriott on South Beach with the exception of the placement of our room. We had an adjacent room next to us, which is good if you are traveling with kids and you want them near by. For us, it lacked privacy. The hotel's restaurant was nice, but the menu was less than desireable, hence we ate out most of the time, which is fine, but when you'd like a snack, the restaurant didn't have much to choose from.

Plenty of great restaurants on South Beach, be aware that tips are added to your bill on South Beach, but no areas of Miami. The gratuity is written in very small print add that to low light which adds up to a tip nearly half of your bill if you don't look closely.

Beware of the taxi's

Taxi's are plentiful, but you are charged for time, not distance. The exception to the rule are the flat rates to and from the airport, other than that, be prepared to spend a ton of money. We a couple of days, I estimate that we spend nearly $200.00, flat rate from airport to hotel is $32.00 and vice versa.

I was disappointed in the Marriott South Beach. Firstly, the air conditioning was cranked up way to high. Secondly, the fitness center was underwhelming. Thirdly, the location was in a seedy part of South Beach -- the southernmost part. Fourthly, the restaurant in the hotel was mediocre. While the service was friendly, I would never return to this hotel.

The service was excellent and the stay was just wonderful. However, there was one big surprise that we had not expected. Parking!!! We did not expect parking to be so high. We expected to pay some but it turned out to be $34.00 per day plus tax. I thought that was a just too high for South Beach. Maybe if we were inside downtown in a major city but not South Beach when you can park somewhere else for $10.

Staff is awesome! So nice and did everything to make my stay absolutely wonderful! they put me in an ocean view room when i only had a quality guest room. Would definitely stay here again! Marriott hotels are the best!

I stayed here with my boyfriend for five days at the end of last month. The hotel was unbelievable. The staff was very accommodating and informative, offering as much help as they could with any situation. The hotel itself was beautiful, pools and fitness center included. The only issue with the pool is that you must get down there early if you want a place to sit. We didn't rent a car while there but the location was right in the center of everything. If you stay here, walk around, its really the only way to see absolutely everything around the hotel. The beach was very well kept, my only complaint is that the hotel does not provide free chairs, and they must be rented for $10! No worries though, many people lay out on towels, it was not much of a problem. Overall, unbelievable. I hope to return here again next year.
