Excellant place to stay
Everyone there is wonderful. The suites are such a great value. We have stayed at the Best Western in Rutland many times and will continue to go back there each time we visit Vermont. I wish though they would invest in new couches in the suites. The ones they have are getting very old and are not very comfortable. But everything else in the Inn makes up for that.
Wonderful place to stay
I travel a lot with business, I found the suites to be very nice with the full size kitchen and all the supplies you need. It was great to make a home cooked meal. The grounds area are just beautiful and well maintained. The house keeping staff is wonderful. The morning breakfast was always nice. My only complaint would be they need to purchase new chairs and couches for the sweets. Sitting in the living room area was very uncomfortable. The couches have seen better days and are desparate need of being replace.

McGrath's Irish Pub
McGrath's Irish pub is a 5 minute drive east of the hotel. They offer a wonderful pub menu in the summer with live music on Friday and Saturday nights. Great place to relax and unwind.
Don't stay here unless you have no sense of smell
My room stank, and I'm a smoker!!! Every fibre was permeated as if a wet ashtray had been wiped around the room. The staff seemed indifferent when I asked if they could do something about it, apologized and told me they had no non-smoking rooms available. This was repeated on my return trip (unfortunately I had booked and paid in advance). There was a creepy guy lurking around the parking lot who asked me questions every time I went to my car. I wished I had another person with me. The response was invariably indifference when and if I had an issue. The high speed computer they provided was not properly firewalled and the NAV was from 2002 so it was probably virus-ridden and it was very slow. Very poor customer service training, graceless responses. Breakfast was very good though. Maybe because I was due to get out quickly.

You need a car
You'll need a car to get to any of the attractions or dining in the area. Everything is on route 4 east of the hotel, and you can find just about anything you need.
