Overpriced, No Amenities & Dishonest
Gym? No. Pool? No. Pets? No. Edible breakfast? No. Room service? Not until the inexplicable hour of 6 p.m. Parking: $17 per night, plus tax. View from the 3rd floor balconies: Trash on the rooftops of dilapidated brick buildings. In addition to what is lacking, the rooms are shabby, moderately-sized and nothing above what would be found in a Hilton Garden Inn. To top things off, FQI charged me $100 more per night than the rate they quoted me, then refused to honor the original quoted rate when I complained. FQI was a terrible experienceâCharleston Place is similarly priced and has all of the above amenities plus a gorgeous spa. Do yourself a favor and stay there instead!
Fabulous
The French Quarter Inn was a wonderful hotel with many great inclusions! There was champagne and lady fingers every day at 3pm, then wine and cheese at 5pm and turn down service every evening! (Not to mention continental breakfast.) Each floor had a coffee/tea station for easy access for all the guests. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and elegant. Our service was fantastic, and everyone was very helpful and accommodating. The location could not be better in downtown Charleston---you are within walking distance of everything! The only down side is there is no fitness room or pool (if you care about those things). We loved it and would certainly stay there again!
Love this place!
Elegant yet relaxed atmosphere. The front desk was always friendly and accomodating, and the champagne and lady fingers upon check-in are a nice touch. The room was clean and comfy, and I love the gorgeous bathroom. I enjoyed the complimentary wine and cheese in the evening. Everything we wanted to do was in walking distance. This is my second visit, and I have had a wonderful experience each time. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
Attention to Detail
From the xxx-count sheets to the 24-hour complimentary coffee (complete with china cups) in every hallway, this hotel is thinking about their guests. It was a treat to be there. The location is great for getting around everywhere a tourist wants to be in Charleston. The only thing is there's no real view -- you're looking at the rooftops of the market and other nearby buildings. But the room, lobby, patios were all beautiful.

carriage tours
Don't pass this up because you think it's too touristy. The guides are informative and the pace and view from the carriage is something you could not possibly get from walking or driving around. Unless you're a lifelong resident or an expert in the history of Charleston, you'll learn something and have a great hour on this tour.
A Delight!
We were so pleased with our stay in this hotel. Beautifully decorated with terrific ambiance. Stayed here with 2 teen children who loved the generous complimentary continental breakfast in the morning; the cheese, crackers (and wine) in late afternoon; and the large cookies and milk before bed. The location couldn't have been better. We walked to the water and ate at a nice seafood restaurant and then strolled down through the waterfront park and historic homes along cobblestone streets. In the morning we were near the large market area and local shops and restaurants. Wonderful hotel and delightful city that all should see. We look forward to a return visit.

Carriage Ride
We enjoyed the covered horse drawn carriage ride through the historic homes and churches. Our driver was very knowledgeable and told numerous stories and relayed interesting historical information. It was very hot, but enjoyable nonetheless. When a brief rain shower came down on us we could see how our hard working horse enjoyed the quick, refreshing bath. Recommend it!
