W Montreal

Very beautiful hotel, modern decor. Clearly the best thing in the room was the shower. I took 2 showers a day just for the rainfall experience. The beds were great, the room was big and very hip. The service at the hotel was outstanding. Two of the best concierges we've ever encountered. They gave us excellent restaurant recommendations/reservations and great tips on things to do and see in Montreal. They also set up a car for us so we could drive up to Quebec City. The valets were excellent. They were friendly, helpful and gave us useful info too. Modern and hip style, loved the bar on the 2nd floor. The wunderbar was a little loud and we could hear it in our room. But not enough to really bother us. The housekeeping was a bit lax for a five star hotel, but the hotel quickly rectified our complaints. It was a great location within the city, connects to a Metro station via tunnel.

We had the best crepes and bagels at Bagel Expressions just up McGill from the hotel. I would fly back to Montreal just for the mixed berry crepes.

Churches, churches, churches

Skip Notre Dame and go to St. Patrick's. A short walk from the hotel and a beautiful, quiet, peaceful church. No laser light shows though. Many other beautiful churches within short walking distance from the hotel.

Lunches

Nickels diner- dull, if you want smoked meat go to Schwartz's deli. When they say don't eat at a restaurant in Jacques Cartier square(Merville) don't ask yourself how bad could it really be. Because the answer is awful.

Dinners

L'Express was a great French bistro and LaLoux was the best dining experience of my life. LaLoux had excellent service, and the food was outstanding. The grapefruit-yogurt-white chocolate dessert made me want to cry it was so good.

The hotel was clean and the staff was extremely courteous. Everyone was nice and helpful when presented with inquiries (places to eat, room issues, and general needs). This was my first stay at a W and I was happy with the way it was presented. Even late at night when they were getting off their shift and we were walking in they were polite to us. The Spa took great care of my fiancé and she loved the care taken during her time there.

this is one of the best hotel I ever been. For those who like modern furniture, that's THE place. great staff, great area...

Valet was the only service to remember, the service part was all a good effort but they just did not make the cut...They tried hard but just don't have that W service standard yet. This was my second try at the W in YUL. We have decided that a new advanture for diff. hotel is in order.

This very stylish hotel is all about comfort. People actually go out of their way to satisfy your every need. The hotel is strategically located in the center of all the city's activities. Great for a romantic escape! We are looking forward to our next stay there.
