Wow!
We spent 8 nights at Valentin and enjoyed every minute of it. The rooms and grounds were beautiful and the service was terrific. My husband and I weren't expecting too much with regard to the restaurants and were pleasantly surprised at each of the "fine dining" establishments. We tried all of them an found the Italian place to be the weakest link. Although it was decent, we'd recently been to Tuscany and that kind of spoils it for just about anywhere else called Italian. If you don't want to utilize the buffets at breakfast and lunch (they were actually very good!), you can always ask for a menu and be served. We found the house wines (all Mexican made) to be very good as well. Poolside and beachside, there are always servers coming around at regular intervals to see if you need a drink, and the swim-up pool is well serviced too. We rented a car so my husband could drive into Playa to catch the early ferry to Cozumel for diving, but if you don't need to be anywhere, the resort is about 20 minutes fro the resort and they have a shuttle. The resort also offers diving expeditions. There is always a cab on the premises if you want to take a ride into Playa or go to the ruins, Xcaret, etc. We went by ourselves, but there were several groups of people as well. There were a lot of honeymooners and anniversary celebrators, but also groups just out to have fun. Entertainment was pretty good, if you like cruise-line type entertainment. They had a native show and a Michael Jackson show that were both pretty good. All in all, an AWESOME vacation. And, yes, we'd go back.
VALENTIN IMPERIAL
We recently stayed at the Valentin and the experience was great.Everything was as we expected .The hotel is beautiful inside and the room was comfortable and big.The check is was quick and the personel is very friendly. We included a car in our vacation package an drove to Playa Del Carmen about 20 miles away. The drive was nice and the town was easy to get around and shopping was fun. THe hotel grounds are beautiful as well as the enormous pool.We had a great time and will be going back.
Beautiful
This was our first time visiting an All-Inclusive Hotel. It was amazing. The customer service is great. They will make you feel like a king/queen. The food is great. I love the fine restaurants during the night. I heard comments about some hotels adding water to the drinks. This one didnt do it. All the drinks were great. The indonesian restaurant was the best. Theere were a couple things I was dissapointed: The beach: It was too rocky. There was just one part that didnt have rocks(The view was fabulous) and the jacuzzy in our room. The water pressure wasnt strong. It took over 2 hours to get the jacuzzy full. Beside those problems everything was wonderful. I will reccomend this hotel to anyone. We didnt leave the hotel at all. There wasnt any need to do it. You want to relax, stay in this hotel.

Tip your servers
The staff here is great. You dont need to tip them, but you feel the need to do it. Bring with you at least $50 in $1 bills. One or two dollars you give to a person you will get a great smile and more help.
PARADISE!
Beautiful place. Look for deals - 'should cost 40% less than Sandals if you search. Try Googleing "Valintin Imperial"" Valentin Maya", "Jet Blue" vacs, etc until you get a good price - Aug, Sept, Oct are best deals. I've been here twice a food is good - just eat French (Scallops or Duck l'orange) or Lobster pot (Mx lobster is a bit chewy but still good). Stay away from Polynesian and Italian. Base rooms are beautiful - nicest bathrooms anywhere. Sandals makes you have reservations at the specialty restaurants and they are booked 4 days in advance making your 3 night stay a bit worthless - no reservations needed at Valentin. In general Mexican beef is not quite up to par with the rest of the world - it's decent but you can't cut it with a fork so keep this in mind. I would pick this place over Sandals anytime - it's a much better deal and just as good a time. You are next to nowhere so not great for nght lfe

Valentin Imperial Maya
I could never say enough good things about this place starting with the champagne reception and cool cloths we received as we arrived. Everyone is so gracious and all they do is wait on you--pull your chair out at meals, always greet you with a smile and "it is my pleasure". The lady at the beach that walks up and down the beach all day long always has a smile and will bring you any drink you request-offers almost once an hour so you never have to go back up to the bar if you don't want to. The grounds are gorgeous and landscaped with tropical flowers, walkways, very well kept. The beach is amazing--very large with umbrellas to sit under and lounge chairs (although you have to get up early to get one!). They will take you out on hobie for a sail..also can book a parasail that leaves from the beach area too. It is so relaxing and the water is amazing and clear with sandy bottom-very little seaweed and no jelly fish. All the restaurants are wonderful and we never had to wait-esp liked the Japanese-they have sushi bar and hibachi tables ( may have to wait for that a little). Great entertainment at night with live music in the gorgeous courtyard, Las Vegas show one night in the Palladium that was amazing and of course someone always there to serve you drinks. They also have theme nights like Mexican Party and Caribbean night with live entertainment and a buffet . You can book tours from the hotel that will come pick you up and take you to amazing places like Chichen-itza or just shopping in Playa del Carmen. I would definitely go back to the Valentin again.
