W Chicago - Lakeshore

Ask for something...better be careful! When you catch a receptionist off guard and is not pleasant to you when you check-in. Well, it does not make for a great first impression. Ask the concierge for help it's like asking for you head to bit off! The hotel itself is fabulous. It's sheik and in an incredible location. Watch your bill... you will be charged for services never rendered.

Hotel was in a great location- right by Navy Pier and other stuff- we certainly did not need to rent a car to get around the city. We walked everywhere, and easily found mass transit when we needed. We flew in from Jersey for the Lollapalooza and all went extremely well. Front desk was friendly & helpful for restaurants, transportation. Hotel was clean, comfy beds, yummy bath toiletries, has terrifc bar & obviously trendy & very happening nightclub! My only complaint is the bathroom door that limits privacy- it's wooden, like shutters & there's a"window" like that in the bathroom too, that opens up into the hotel room. Not to my liking. Housekeeping was a teeny bit lax w/minor stuff and once came at 8AM! Other than that it was a good experience.

i love this hotel.It's pricey, but so are a lot of other hotels in chicago and this one is hip and cool and luxurious and i never want to stay anywhere else again! I can't wait to go back.

First of all, the views from this hotel ROCK. Lake Michigan has never looked so beautiful. Second, the rooms are spacious, very well decorated, comfortable (the bed is "to die for"), and great for your average traveler. The bathroom was HUGE and the rain shower was totally luxurious. The hospitality of everyone from the guys outside helping direct traffic all the way to a manager that went way out of his way to help us with a special request, made me a loyal *W* fan forever!!! Keep up the good work! We had great service in the restaurant that was really fast, and room service was pretty sweet too. Back to the bed--it was so comfortable. I didn't want to get out of it when I woke up...then when I got up, all I saw was the beautiful blue waters of Lake Michigan with some wonderful sun shining down and it was like magic!

This is a great hang-out place with awesome music and good people watching. Great service & staff here as well. Makes for a fun Chicago weekend!

I came in for a weekend trip with my girlfriends and we had a total blast at the hotel. The Lobby rocked from the minute we stepped foot inside, every time we left and came back to the hotel. In fact, we were sad we made a lot of plans outside the hotel because we really felt torn between keeping our other plans and staying and lounging in the lobby! The room decor was awesome and the views were great. We had plenty of room for EVERYONE and really enjoyed the luxurious products in the bathroom. It's close to shopping, the beach, nightlife and lots of yummy dining options. This has just become an annual trip and we'll be back to the W Lakeshore EVERY time!! The rooms and property were nice but we really got great service from the staff--everyone we came across helped out--down to the hostess in the restaurant who helped us with our bags when we were in a hurry and only slightly coherent!!

Topo Gigo is the best italian food!

A local friend suggested this awesome restaurant for dinner, in the heart of old town. We had to wait for an outside table but it was worth the wait--the people watching both inside & outside the restaurant rocked AND the food was amazing! This will be an annual event as well!
