Great experience
We've just returned from a viwit to the River Inn of Harbor Town on Mud Island, Memphis, TN. This boutique hotel is fantastic. We were there for 3 nights to celebrate a special birthday. We could not have asked for a better experience. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was great. We had a wonderful view of the Mississippi River. Can't wait to visit again.

The River
Be sure to enjoy the park across the street from the hotel. Watching the Mississippi flow by is so 'calming.'
Relish the River Inn
Our two-day stay at the River Inn was wonderful. After easily finding a parking spot very near the front door, we were greeted with champagne and quickly shown to our spacious, well-equipped room overlooking the river. We took advantage of the park across the street for a long walk along the river and then came back to watch the sunset from the beautiful 3rd floor terrace. The woman at the front desk got us reservations at a hard to get into downtown restaurant which was fabulous and directed us to some places to spend the evening. When we returned, we found our beds turned down, handmade chocolates and two glasses with port set out in our room -- what a nice surprise! In the morning, we were treated to an extravagant breakfast in the dining room (including in the room charge) and then headed out to sight see. When we returned we had great service in the bar that evening, and a very nice dinner in the restaurant. The service was prompt and helpful. The wines (both by the glass and bottle) offered a nice selection and complemented the meal nicely. We would easily stay here again even if we just wanted to get away for the weekend -- we felt utterly spoiled!
Not So Great
I was told the rate was $** but they said those rooms were gone so I had to get a penthouse for $** which I did because I was on a vacation (SEGRET) vacation other wise I would have not spent that much on a room but I was also told it was located by Beale St. but you have to go all the way around the bridge park and then mud island pass river front and then pay a parking lot to park you car which I did I found the Kings Court Hotel they park cars for 5 dollars I asked them how much it is for customers and its free for them and also its RIGHT by beale St. and the rates are cheap and the hotel was REALLY NICE I took a look at rooms before I went to Beale St.and the next day I just checked in it was EXTREMLY affordable UNLIKE the RIVER INN OF HARBOR Town front desk over there didnt even help much when I told them my room sheets were dirty and had stains on it didnt even think they has security because I saw all the crazy people walking around the cars and kept peaking threw the restraunt windows. Next time I go to Memphis Kings Court is going to be the place I stay at.
