Out of this World Honeymoon!
My new husband and I just returned from our 7 day honeymoon at the Secrets Maroma - we are still dreaming of the beach, the romantic and awesome swim out suite and the mangos! The service was first rate- we had our own personal concierge for staying in the Preferred Section. Anything we wanted she was right there to cover within minutes and the even booked my spa appointments for me. The spa is lush and relaxing- as a spa should be. The restaurants were excellent; we loved the French restaurant Bordeaux and the Italian was great, just ask the server for their personal recommendations. The beach was breathtaking and we never had a spot finding a place to veg out at anytime of day- sun or shade. Drink service on the beach was courteous and prompt and the lunch buffets are actually set up my the pool and on the beach for you...only a few steps to awesome snacks. When they came by the pool with ice cream and iced coffee after lunch I was floored- this hotel doesn't miss a beat. The PADI directors at Aquaworld are also awesome, as is the coral reef one mile off the shore of the hotel. The staff taught both my husband and I the first PADI module and we were so wowed at our first experience we were on the ferry for two more dives at Cozumel the next day! If you are an avid traveler looking for an upscale, WOW all-inclusive experience, this is it.

Olympus Transportation is great
They took us to and from the airport to the hotel. They were clean, courteous and effective. You can also book tours with them in the lobby of the resort. - Type:Area Attractions Distance: Requires transportation

SCUBA diving off the coast of Maroma
I had never dreamed I would hop on a boat from the hotel beach and 10 minutes later be swimming underwater with sea turtles, sting rays, and hundreds of beautiful other fish! Spend some extra time shopping in Playa del Carmen where the ferry leaves from if you get the chance.
An unmatched experience - can't wait to return!
Upon searching for a vacation destination, my husband and I were swept away by the beautiful pictures displayed and the overflow of positive comments written by former guests regarding Secrets Maroma Beach. We knew we had made the right choice from the moment we entered the breath-taking lobby! We were greeted with champagne, cool towels, and the words, ""Welcome home"" from every employee. We were given a quick, informative tour and then retreated to our new living quarters. Our jaws dropped as we moved thoughout our room - a beautiful bed with light, airy drapery, very trendy decor, and a bathroom complete with a tiled shower and a huge, jetted tub! Our refrigerator was stocked with all sorts of beverages and our TV was turned on filling our room with soft music. We knew we had found our little piece of heaven! Next, we took a self-guided tour of the grounds - so clean, manicured, and filled with palm trees, flowers, and fountains! Very quickly our days became filled with hot sun, white sand, turquoise water, cool drinks, and great food! Each morning, we were at breakfast by 8:00 and to the pool by 8:45 (didn't want to miss a moment) and our drinks began being replaced without even asking! (Tip: Ask for top-shelf liquor - it's there.) The blue floats supplied by the resort for the pool were outstanding! Dinners were very good, but be prepared for it to take some time, especially if you are with a large group. (We made some friends!) In short, we were treated like royalty and we can't wait to return!
Great Resort
Stayed for 4 days, beach is awesome, pure white sand and soft under feet. Pools are beautiful, service is top notch, food at theme restauraunts could be better, but lunch poolside BBQ is great. Rooms are beautiful and spacious
Great experience, beautiful resort, wonderful staff
We spent Christmas week 2008 at Secrets Maroma Beach and had a wonderful experience. The staff was always friendly and eager to be of assistance. We never passed an employee on the grounds who did not greet us with at least a smile and an Hola. The grounds and rooms were very clean, well-laid out and comfortable. The resort is so new that we could still detect the odor of freshly painted walls, which wan't overwhelming especially since we often kept the balcony doors open for the fresh sea breeze. Our room wasn't made up each day until late afternoon, but we were usually on the beach or at the pool most of the day. When the turn-down service arrived in the evening, they tidied up as well and left more clean towels and made sure we had everything we needed. The mini-fridge was kept well-stocked with a variety of included beverages. The entertainment staff was very friendly and would encourage us to participate in activities but also understood when we just wanted to relax. The pool-side and beach drink service always came at just the right time. We enjoyed each of the restaurants at which we dined, as well as the room service. We at at Seaside and Oceana a lot because they were close to the pool, had good food (we at a lot of shrimp and calamari) and we didn't have to go completely indoors. We loved the diverse breakfast buffet where we could have anything from bacon and eggs to handmade tamales to fabulous fresh fruit. Secrets Maroma is a nice, quiet place to go and you don't have to be ""on."" It was a great place to completly kick back and relax. It was our first all-inclusive experience and we can't wait to go back.
Excellent
You will not be disappointed with this resort. The staff were so nice and helpful, the restaurants were great, plenty to choose from (the japanese was the best even if you're not a big fan of sushi go for the tapanyaki show!). the pools were beautiful and relaxing and though the beach was really nice I don't know where it merits the awards? The spa was extraordinary and reasonable. If you are looking for total rest and relaxation then this is the place for you. The entertainment was a little on the lame side, but playa del carmen is a $20 cab ride away and the night life doesn't end til 6 or 7. The bars at the resort are still alot of fun though. The rooms were fab and serviced twice a day. We had a swim out room that was a novelty for 5 mins but after that we didn't really use and though ours was in the sun all day alot of them were in the shade all day! The main pools are so beautiful you're gonna wanna just race down there every morning anyway.
