"It is on rare occasions that I am compelled to write a letter pertaining to a recent stay at a resort. It is often because the stay was either very good or very bad. Unfortunately, on this occasion, it is the latter.
One cannot deny that the Conquistador Resort in Fajardo, Puerto Rico is a beautiful property. Situated on the eastern coast of the island, it has stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. It simply leaves you breathless.
One of the servers, Brandon, did a phenomenal job of attending to our needs while dining at one of the on-site restaurants.
The Coqui Waterpark was a hoot. It was clean and well maintained.
It took over two and a half hours for us to have access to our room. We arrived at three PM, and they told us our room wasn't ready. When we finally got the keys, they didn't work and thus we had to go back to the front desk for new ones.
The resort failed to mention on its website that several facilities were closed while being renovationed. These facilities included the fitness center, several of restaurants, pools and shops along the marina. This was rather disappointing, since I make it a habit to continue to workout daily while on vacation or on business.
The room had an amazing view, but it was standard, nothing extraordinary. We requested an upgrade, being that we were celebrating our 21st wedding anniversary, but that didn't happen. Overall we were disappointed."
