We picked this hotel because we thought we were going to have a hot breakfast but we didn’t They need to put on their website no hot breakfast due to covid

I would not recommend this Best Western and urge you to stay elsewhere. I stay in hotels fairly regularly. I always book my rooms to pay when we arrive. It's not unusual for me to have last minute changes of schedule so it is easier that way. When I arrived on Friday I was informed that my room had to be paid in cash. I couldn't use the card I used to reserve the room. They refused to accept both Visa and Mastercard. In addition to paying cash up front for my room they required a $150 cash deposit. I don't ever carry large amounts of cash. They have an atm in the lobby with a $6 fee for every $200 withdrawn. When I asked them to explain this policy they claimed it was because I was "local". I live an hour away from the property in a different county. My daughter had a early event to attend Saturday morning so we were staying closer to the venue for convenience. I wouldn't call an hour away local and even if it were how does a cash only policy make sense?! I expect some changes due to social distancing like the elimination of hot breakfast. I was given a hostess cake and mandarin orange as a substitute. The elevator was filthy. The floor was wet and there was trash all over. The entire building smelled like cigarettes and weed despite being a no smoking building. There were limitations on how many people could be in the pool area but they didn't offer a waiting list or reserved time. There were no toiletries, even hand soap, in my room. Front desk didn't care if we were happy.

they were not very forthcoming with information. when i checked in they only accepted cash payment for room and $150 deposit. That info was not given when I made the reservation so I had to go to an atm. The limited access to the pool was not explained when making the reservation eventhough I specifically asked about the pool when I called. Was only told that the pool was open. I stayed for 2 nights and my room was not attended to or restocked (towels, soap, TOILET PAPER) in between. I reserved a jacuzzi room expecting a jacuzzi for 2. It was very disappointing to walk in to find a regular size bathtub with jets. My 6ft husband couldnt even fit in it.

When checking in there was a pretty insane kids birthday party going on in the lobby at 7:00pm. Staff said it would be over and quiet by 10:00pm and it was. It was just odd entering a lobby to find a wild party with 15+ kids and 20+ parents at 7:00pm. We have a 5 & 3 year old and we were not with them. It was a wilder scene than expected.

Impressed with motel and staff

Pros: Staff, location, physical condition.
Cons: Nothing I saw - breakfast can always be better.
Location: Close to an array of good restaurants (recommend the seafood rest. nearby).
This motel is nicely located with many good restaurants within walking distance. The staff was extraordinarily friendly and helpful. The room was clean and in very good condition. Highly recommend.
