PROS: Our favorite dinner restaurants were El Rancho and Las Barcas. The staff and food at both are top-notch. We visited the buffets on several nights as well and were equally-impressed with the options as well as the quality and taste of the food. The service at the Tulum and Akumal buffets in the lobby were the best! Salvador was great; he remembered our coffee order and was fast and friendly. The coffee shop was a place we visited often and loved it. The drinks are tasty and the baristas are friendly and work extremely hard. Our favorite was Saret. She's always smiling even though she was super busy. The beach is close so it's easy to get to (beware of rocks at the entrance to the ocean; it's wonderful after that). There are plenty of lounge chairs at the beach and pools. We like that the pools are separated from the party group and the ones that prefer to relax. Jarvan at the front desk was especially personable and extremely helpful. The coatis, raccoons, spider monkeys, and iguanas were my personal favorite part! They're so sweet! CONS: Our AC wasn't working on our first night. We tried to be understanding since it was 95 outside but it took 4 calls followed by a visit to the front desk to get it resolved. The manager, Marianna, was quick to help and switched our room. The pools close at 7pm and it would be nice to be able to swim later. OVERALL: we love Grand Sirenis and will be returning. We did a lot of walking during our 10-night stay but the wildlife make it fun.

Property was very clean. I wish staff had taken the time to explain the shuttle process, dining, etc. I felt on the last day of my trip I figured things out on my own.

*IMPORTANT: Do NOT get your airport transportation from MTS a.k.a. Speedy Shuttle. Worst service ever!* Overall, the property has many great offerings (dining options, entertainment, pools, etc.). Unfortunately, the reception staff doesn’t have the training needed to deliver a successful welcome presentation. Basically, instead of focusing on what was included in our “all-inclusive” reservation, they made sure to mention what was not included (certain top shelf drinks, members-only areas) as well as limited time for pools and beach areas, room service restrictions, etc. So, instead of looking forward to our stay, we were already double guessing our decision to stay there. It was up to us and the hotel app to figure out where to go in the resort. They didn’t even tell us there was a dolphin experience! Furthermore, the entire resort lacks proper ventilation. The AC appeared not to be working in the restaurants, and most of them did not have ceiling fans. If it was hot for us as guests I can only imagine what it was like for the kitchen staff. In general the staff morale was pretty low. We’ve been to other resorts and the staff usually greets you with a smile and appear to be happy to work there. That was not the case here. On the upside, food was good and plentiful. The nightly shows were fun and entertaining. The room was really nice and ours was centrally located so we didn’t have a long walk to the pools. Overall, great potential, but resort administration needs some work.

I have noticed a significant decline in the quality of service compared to my previous visit. The lack of staff is apparent, as it took an unreasonable amount of time to be seated and receive assistance. On multiple occasions, we had to seek help after waiting for over 10 minutes at an unattended table. Almost impossible to get a reservation for a la carte restaurants. It's a nice resort but what make us come back was the service and that has changed and is not there anymore.
