The hotel is older, although they boast about a renovation in 2016, with the lobby being really nice but furniture in rooms is a little dated. Bar was never open. Restaurant was good, we did have breakfast only, and service was great.
Our only issue was with the afternoon/early evening manager. He was not only unwilling to accommodate the reservation we made through hotels.com, we were originally given a king room instead of the double queen with city view that we reserved, and then put us in the “retreat” building which was older than the rest of the hotel. When I asked about why we could not get a room in the main hotel I was told that he was honoring the reservation by giving me a double queen and, I quote, “I’m already getting the room through a third party for $65 a night, what else do I want or expect”. He acted as if I was completely putting him out by even asking about it and two of his employees apologized to me for his behavior. I wonder if he knows how many vacancies he’d have if they didn’t work with third party sites to assist in booking rooms. Also, his last name wasn’t Hilton so it’s not really his call. Selma, another manager, was extremely gracious to move us the next day and even offered complimentary breakfast. Overall, we did enjoy the stay. Great location and in proximity to everything we needed and would recommend to others.
