Clean and close to beach, but dated and overpriced

Pros: Clean room , keurig, fridge.
Cons: Bedding, shower head- should be newer and handheld, update fans in bathrooms, air conditioner- update, more outlets, wifi, get rid of flies!
Location: Right on boardwalk. Beach is surfing only (16th street). You will need to walk to 14th street to get to swimming beach. Lots of restaurants near by
This is an older hotel that was recently renovated with some cosmetic upgrades. The room was still old and way overpriced. The bathroom was renovated, but with cosmetic upgrades only. The tub and showerhead were still old. The tub did not drain properly. The exhaust fan in the bathroom did not work. There was mold growing in the seams of the tiles. The beds and pillow were extremely uncomfortable- almost intolerable. The sheets were so scratchy that they felt like sandpaper. The pillows were horrible. There were flies everywhere- cluster flies. It was disgusting. Our room was not cleaned until very late in the afternoon each day. With two small kids, this was very inconvenient d/t naps. There are not enough outlets in this place b/c it is so old! I had to plug my phone into the outlet in the bathroom b/c there were no open outlets in the room. There at least could have been an outlet expander available to plug in phones and computers. The wifi did not work for almost are entire stay (5 nights). We repeatedly called the front desk about this problem. Despite these downfalls, the room was clean (as in no bed bugs!) and it was right on the beach. The keurig and fridge in the room were nice amenities (however they were in the bathroom!). I would definitely not stay here again. It is way overpriced for what you get. You are better off renting a house or condo. I do not recommend this place.
