Hotel staff is very helpful and friendly. Location puts you within walking distance to experience all of what Barcelona and surrounding area offers.

Great hotel

This is a really nice hotel right next to the train station and close to lots of cool stuff.

Very comfortable hotel, great staff

Pros: confortable, great shower, great views, kind staff.
Cons: Business facilities, such as printing, without others (waiter) having access to your document. Corner room air-condotioner. Rooftop Restaurant dinner.
Location: Near Sants railway station. Easy to reach anything. However needs some figuring out, but that is useful learning too. Next door there is a great park.
We stayed in 2 different rooms. One on the 16th floor was a higher category and had a nicer view. Bathrobes and slippers were provided as well. The temperature of the room was perfect. Nice view, quiet, great shower, great bedlinen and beds. The second room was a corner room on the 4th floor, which I was excited about, but it was facing the station and was way too hot in the afternoon, the air-conditioner was either not working right or just could not handle cooling a room with 2 glass walls heated by the strong sun. The staff was helpful and offered us to change the room. The spa in the basement is pleasant, but you need a reservation and not all room fees include it. I had to pay an extra 10 Eu to use it, but it was worth it. It was very relaxing and refreshing after a day of sightseeing. I was told that we could also use the rooftop pool of the Expo hotel next door for free, but we did not try it. Breakfast was $17 Euros, on the expensive side, but was nice, fresh, ample choices, great views. Printing was a bit complicated, you had to do it in the bar, the printer being in the "kitchen" of the bar, so the waiter had to bring it out to you. This is awkward if you did not want to share the information on your document. This could certainly be improved, if they wanted to attract more business travelers. Getting to the hotel from the airport and back is easy with the R, Renfe, train. It is a good idea to buy a pass at the airport at the tourist office.

Worth the Price

Pros: Clean and roomy. Price was good.
Cons: Not much they can do.
Location: Not too far from Gaudi home and Plaza Espana. Great restaurants with exceptional views at the top of the converted bull fighting ring.
Really nice hotel with a very helpful and friendly staff. Located very near the train station. Good value for the money, but not many good dining options close bye.

Torre Catalunya.

Pros: Close to metro, trains, shopping, coin laundry, attentive cosmopolitan staff. We might access this hotel again.
Cons: Our room was not cleaned well by staff. Electrical and AC systems failed twice. Room seemed to have electrical overload problems.
Location: Metro, trains, shopping, access through metro to Olympic village, Sagrada Familia, Ramblas, other areas.
Torre Catalunya is an identifiable, towering hotel as its name well suggests. Overall this hotel is good, its staff is attentive, cosmopolitan and helpful. It is conveniently located across from the train station which I used, and within walking distance from a major shopping center, Las Arenas, and the metro station. Coin laundry facilities are located about four blocks away. Breakfast, which was not included in the room price, has good choices. Its restaurant is located in the hotel's penthouse and provides extraordinary views of Barcelona. Overall, we enjoyed this hotel.
