Good location, unfriendly staff and misguided pict

Pros: Miguel
Cons: Get rid of Miguel and the deceptive pictures online
Location: Good location
The hotel has good location and overall the facilities are fine. The staff is somewhat helpful. However, there is a front desk person named Miguel who was very rude and pushy. He wanted to sell the breakfast right away and told me that "if you don't get it now at 9.50 E, it will cost you 20 E tomorrow (ridiculous). Then , he told me that the water was drinkable and had to suffer the consequences of it (you just can imagine). In the Travelocity website there are two pictures of a swimming pool. I asked where is it. They told me "we will give you a pass to a local gym, where the pool is located" (a joke). I will never go back to this Hotel because of Miguel and the deceptiveness of the information provided online

Great location and service

Great place to stay if you're embarking on a cruise out of Barcelona. Very close to the port and to other tourist areas.

Awful!

We arrived there at 8:30 am from NYC, after waiting on line for about 20 min (lots of people waiting) we were told we could check in at 3 o'clock, or we could pay almost 30.00 euros and check in at 10am! What we did after waiting again about 20 min... Well they said we booked a room without breakfast, what I didn't, we paid for the reservation back in August, because they needed to change the reservation the day before due to a flight change, the receptionist kept telling me it was a "last minute deal with no breakfast" whatever... The room was super small with 2 single very uncomfortable beds! Seriously we are a couple! I've never seen that before! The bathroom had no window and no fan! This hotel was worse than a 2 star one! It is not a 4 star hotel at all. Barcelona is wonderful with much better hotels to choose from.

This hotel exceeded my expectations.

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
Cons: No free Internet
I picked this hotel based on its lower cost and reviews of other guests. The only problem we had was that we arrived about noon and their first statement was that we could not check in until 2 pm. When I told them my wife was not feeling well after the 14 hour trip from the States, they found an available room and let us check in early. We speak no Spanish, but they had employees who spoke good English or good enough English. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Hotel was busy, but service, room & location all great.

Stayed at the Tryp Apolo for one night prior to our cruise. Arrived very early along with many others. (Got checked in around 1PM.) All were requesting an early check-in. Hotel held our bags while we explored the neighborhood. Within easy walking distance of Rambla. Staff helped with dining suggestions and some other questions. We had the hotels breakfast and it was fresh and varied. Close to the port. Would recommend and would stay there again.

Great hotel, close to everything

Pros: Free breakfast, Free Internet
Great hotel! Since it was the offseason, the a/c didn't work. You may want to inquire about this because it can get hot in Barcelona.
