The location is fantastic and the hotel is nice. If you stay here, stay away from the exterior suites for a while. They're very quaint, but the room we stayed in was recently renovated (so everything is new and nice) but the carpet glue/construction smell was so awful that we literally couldn't sleep at night (husband kept on coughing and we both got massive headaches). To top it off, you can't control the AC in the room, so we were forced to keep opening the door in freezing Feb just to dilute the smell.

One of the Best in Europe for the Price

Our recent stay in the Prinsenhof Hotel has set the standard for us in European hotels. We spend a month in western Europe each summer. This is a 4 star hotel that, in the U.S., would cost at least $* a night. Our price was about half that. The room was luxurious, the bathroom compares to a Four Seasons Hotel room bath, the sheets were equal to Frette linens, etc. This hotel is a virtual jewel. We stayed 8 days and never had a hiccup in service and consideration. It is a 17 room family owned hotel and the care of the family touch is everywhere. Breakfast was terrific...at a fixed price it compared to the prace elsewhere in Brugge but provided more selection. Food quality was high. The tables were set with a white tablecloth, china and silver. This hotel provides a superiod hotel experience with out pretentiousness. Of course, we will be returning next year.
