Great property and the staff and food were fantastic. The resort is on the outskirts of things to do and the beach is nice but not that silky smooth sand and blue water that the Caribbean ocean is known for.

The property is beautiful, and amenities are great. What I did not like is the room we got. First, we had to wait (4) hours to get the room when we could've enjoyed the place but had to wait. We had a flight that got us onsite by 12PM but could not check in until 4PM. When we got the room, there were paperwork left behind from the cleaning crew (they came back later on and didn't even knock, just came in and took the paperwork), the floor was wet and I almost slipped and fell on the tile floor, bathroom mirror dirty, shower licking on the bathroom floor (glass partition was not sealed on the bottom and had to put a towel otherwise the floor would be all wet) and the AC unit was making a bad noise when it would kick in for about 5 seconds before it would go quiet. We told the baggage delivery guy about the floor being wet and He called downstairs, but nothing done about it. That was disappointing.

Overall this resort was disappointing. 1.) Our safe lock was de programmed the morning of our check out. We had not checked out and our passports were inside the safe. They came and fixed it and then expected a tip. (I have read other reviews stating this was a problem at this resort.) 2.) Beach is full of sticks and seaweed. 3.) It was almost impossible to get a restaurant reservation. The only way to secure a reservation for decent time (not 9 or 10pm) was to go to the restaurant and tip them. Every time we ate, there were empty tables. 4.) Our stay was all inclusive, yet for every item, you have to sign a receipt in which you are asked to leave an “extra tip”. Again, this was mentioned on several other reviews. 5.) Service staff was hit and miss. Sometimes, they were amazing and sometimes they were rude. For example, I asked for a schedule for a ferry. They handed me a schedule in Spanish. I asked for one in English, she proceeded to tell me the days of the week in Spanish. 6.) When we made our reservation, we were told we would be able to make reservations at the joint resort, Garza. This was not true. We could not use any of the bars or restaurants at Garza. 7.) There are no evening activities. Bars close at 11pm. Your only choice after 11 is room service. 8.) The ocean waterpark is very small, advertising was deceiving. Buyers beware. There are far nicer resorts without the headaches.

The place was fantastic. The pools were perfect for our kids, the staff was very friendly and our room was kept very clean. We even had turn-down service, which was a pleasant surprise. The food was delicious, particularly the desserts.
